Welcome Donte DiVincenzo (Take Two)

I watched a bit of his game from the Bucks...I think his defensive awareness is off the chart...almost Draymond Green like. He does things and cover space that forces the ballhandler to be careful. His ability to help the weak side or seeing who screws up the defensive assignment and need help. He even boxed out even though he is much smaller in size...just fundamental. This is something the Kings never have with any of their previous players with probably the exception of Barnes. That's why it's so disrupted if you put him together with Mitchell. He's just a high IQ basketball player. Kings are trading dumb players for high IQ...talking about Hield and Bagley.

This could be a trade that works out for both teams. No doubt Marv is going to put up some numbers in Detroit and they can let the market play out before matching any offers. The Kings get a possible starter out of the deal. FOX Mitchell DDV and Davis has the potential to be one of the better backcourts in the league if everything works out.

I’d argue that it’s already in the upper half at the very least with DDV/Mitchell defense and Fox scoring ability

Once this kid gets his rhythm back, he will be a very nice fit next to Fox and Mitchell. We may not see it this season but I think next season (injuries permitting) he will come back to the level that is expected from him.

Does all the little things you want a player to do next to a star team mate. Fits really nicely at that SG spot for us in the long run.

I wonder if Monte knew he was going to get DDV, which is why he felt comfortable trading Hali. Probably made it a lot easier to pull the trigger on the bigger trade, even though the Marv/DDV trade wasn’t announced until the next day.
It was probably agreed in principle or the framework of the deal was.

We have the backcourt set with Fox, DDV, Mitchell and Davis. We have a nice frontcourt with Sabonis at Center and HB at Power Forward. We have some depth at the wing now, but we still need that high level full sized wing to make this squad a legitimate deep playoff contender.

I'm hoping Monte is able to pluck a nice full size wing out of this upcoming draft with a pick likely to be in #10-16 range. Or Monte can trade Holmes in the off season for that missing piece. I still see the Kings a legitimate high level wing away from really competing for a deep playoff run next season.

we need a high level 3/4 that can hit the 3 at a high percentage with a lot of attempts per game. We get that and this team is a legit playoff team

I'm pretty impressed by his high motor and general smarts/quickness but I must say some of his shot selection has been super rash and seems like he's rushing like crazy when he's shooting it. Is this just nerves on a new team with him pressing or is it something he does but use to hit a higher rate?

I think we still need a good weak side shot blocker with a jumper in the front court.
