Welcome, Buddy Hield

Maybe it's just me but to me Malachi has more of an NBA game than Hield does. Maybe I am wrong but....!

At this point Malachi does have more of an NBA GAME because of his ability to draw contact and handle the ball, might be a better NBA shooter too. Joerger just was not going to give Richardson the freedom that Buddy has had due to the number of healthy vets on the roster.

If Vivek is orchestrating things then Buddy will get his 30Mpg and some freedom. If its on Joerger I don't expect him to give Buddy as much time with all of the vets we have.

Right now even Ben deserves time over Hield.

Im rooting for Buddy but I sort of feel bad for him, He is NOT a franchise player but is being set up with expectations that he is going to become one.

I really hope being connected to what could possibly be one of the Top lop-sided trades in NBA history doesn't ruin this kid.

Could you imagine the constant storylines if boogie ever wins a ring? I can already see the intro, it will begin with Vlade being traded for Kobe showing how hes associated with two of the biggest robberies in NBA history:(.

Why is Buddy not a franchise player? I think we don't know that yet. He was the third fiddle within the starting lineup of the Pel's. We don't know what he can do with a bigger role and probably more confidence, when he isn't pulled after the first mistake. We need to find that out and this season should be all about examining what we have with the young players.

We can't talk Buddy down, because he came back in the DMC trade. Maybe the change of scenery and role can bring out the best in him.

who is this optimist and what is he doing here ;-)

Welcome Buddy Hield. Don't take the overall sadness of the majority of Kings fans personally, it has nothing to do with you. I hope you have an incredible career in Sacramento and lead us to the playoffs.

This is where I'm at. Nothing to do at this point but get excited about Buddy and hope for the best. Guy is obsessive about basketball and getting better. Consummate gym rat. Hopefully he improves over the summer and gives us some hope next year.

By the way, is there going to be a press conference for Buddy and the new guys or .....

Did I miss it somehow? It's like the organization didn't even acknowledge the trade.

Oh please! Buddy is a rookie and I am sure with his work ethic he will either become a good NBA player that reaches his potential or he won't die wondering what might have been.

But to even suggest that there is a chance that he could be a franchise player....wow! He will be a franchise player in the same way that Kevin Martin was. A scorer who will get his points but if he is your primary offensive option, you are not going far.

I didn't suggest anything. I just said we don't know yet, what kind of player Buddy is.
He was a star in college and than played next to AD for the Pelicans, where he didn't have much freedom to make decisions himself and was basically a spot up shooter. That's all. Wether he will break out thanks to his new role or will struggle once again remains to be seen.
Older rookie, breaking out once his role changed? CJ McCollum comes to mind. So those kind of things are possible, even though there is only a very small chance for it to happen.
Let's wait and see.

I must have misunderstood!

Let me reiterate it. I think he might be able to be a very good player in the NBA. CJ McCollum or JJ Reddick type if all goes well but none of those guys are franchise level players. There are only a few franchise level players out there and Buddy will not be in the same universe as those because he simply is not that talented.
