Nice interview from News10. Still nice to know we have someone in the national media on our side, especially after old Chuckle-Nugget let loose a mouth fart tonight in addition to others.

Webb will always be my favorite King. It's sad he isn't still involved with the organization in some aspect. The Maloofs need to do something about that.

I agree and I don't really understand why he's not. We have Bobby Jackson and Shariff working, why can't C-Webb have a job as well?

Because he's employed by Turner Sports right now, and probably makes good money for a low maintenance job. All he has to do is watch basketball and make fun of Charles and Kenny and get paid a bunch...yeah, I think I could do that too!:D

It's not just a matter of finding Chris a job. He's already got a plum job! And one he's nicely growing into. The only Kings-related job that would make sense (without him having to give up his national broadcasting/commentating career) would be a part-time gig like we have for Walton and Gray. Of course, if Chris would prefer to work in a team's front office, I would hope that Geoff would clear some space for him.

In another note, I saw Bobby Jackson on my fligh to chicago two days ago. He was headed to Indiana or something. It was sad because he was flying coach while I had a free upgrade. Really nice guy though.

Webber also seems to really love Cousins and the way he communicates would be perfect for Demarcus.

I would love to see Webb as a our big man coach and as a personal mentor for Cousins.

Kenny and Charles were flat out ruthless last night, which I don't understand after a 20 point win against a playoff caliber team.

they both have 0 talent in the broadcasting business.

Charles is a deadbeat while Kenny has this self-inflated ego since Barkley makes any idiot look semi-sane next to him. They both talk in a "matter of fact" tone, when in reality, they simply hop on and off bandwaggons worse than Laker fans.

SAD? Don't worry about Mr. Jackson, he'll be okay. Also, I think he's had his fair share of 1st class flights.

I find them highly entertaining actually.

Was it Webber who said Cousins is 6'9"? Somebody did during the broadcast. And then they were talking about whether he was a power forward or a center? And then Kenny Smith said that the reason the Kings have problems is because they have duplicate players at the same position? What the hell are these guys talking about?

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought they were reffing to Al Harrington.

Actually I thought that was a particularly pertinent point by Kenny. If you recall at the beginning of the year, everybody knew we had talent, but the issue was that we had exactly one starting spot filled. We still had to figure out who was going to start next to Reke (we dabbled around with Head, Beno, Cisco had his shot), we still had to figure out who was going to be the starting SF (Donte and Casspi were supposedly the contenders here, ended up being Cisco for his shooting), who was going to start at the 4 (Thompson was supposedly a beast in practice and Landry came out slow) and who was going to be the starting 5 (Were we gonna throw Cousins into the fire? Or let him come off the bench behind Sammy?). So there was a lot of "duplicate" talent in that sense for the longest while, which we seemingly have begun to figure out a rotation to accommodate it all appropriately.

Now whether this was Kenny hitting a bullseye through shrewd analysis or by sheer dumb luck is up to debate.

From memory I believe that was Webber and I believe it was in reference to Cousins, though I wasn't entirely sure once I heard it.

That's a bit of a bad number, of course, because Cousins measured out at 6' 9.5" barefoot, 6' 10.75" in shoes at the combine. Like everybody else, his playing height is in shoes, so he's basically 6' 11" out there. And that's what he looks like, too. Legit height for a center, but pretty much average rather than tall. Of course, due to his freakish wingspan, he was tied for the highest standing reach in the 2010 draft at 9' 5".

The player he was tied with? Hassan Whiteside.

That was webber who said Demarcus was 6'9". Add that to the fact that he called omri Omar in the kings' season preview on nbatv im not so sure as to how much he's really keeping tabs on the kings franchise.

On a replay, he also called Beno, Casspi. I guess all white people look the same? Even ones that are 6 inches in difference?

Love you too, Webber. :) The Maloofs have said, more than once, that they would love to have either Webber or Valde back in some capacity. I think Webber loves the spotlight way too much to work behind the scenes.

I won't spoil this by talking about Barkley.

Yeah. C-Webb is a class act. He would be a great guy to have around the locker room and mentor the youth. It would be fabulous if somehow he could join the coaching staff. He probably earns more money working for TNT and NBA TV and it appears he enjoys his new career. We'll see. You never know what may happen. Go Kings.

You can definitely tell that Chris loves Sacramento – he doesn’t even need to say it. It was hard for him to come here at first but he’s really grown to love the city and I love that. It’s a shame to see other media outlets not appreciating Sacramento or even our team, but I think if we keep this team together it’s really going to be fun and special.
