Actually that's not particularly true. Today showed just how shaky the front office was on the whoole deal, reeked of desperation, and also had the Maloofs fingerprints all over it. Today did show that petrie either a) lacks the clout to protect Peja as we spiral, or b) more likely really did not want to trade him, but was backed into a corner and did what had to be done. At the first sign of trouble though, he bailed. Now we have a mess.

So let me get this straight, you would have gone ahead with the deal despite the nutcase saying he doesn't want to come to Sacramento??????

If Pedja was Petrie's pet as you have implied all along, wouldn't you think that Pedja would find out about the trade from Petrie himself??????

No quite the opposite actually -- the fact that it took so long goes a long way toward proving the theory. This deal has been out there for a long time. It happened now only when all other options were exhausted. And its no longer Geoff's call. Nor should it be -- this does not look or feel like anything else he's done because this is the one he didn't want to do. He may have panicked into it with us sinking, certainly panicked out of it before his owners wanted him too. His heart was never in this. And now the Maloofs have stepped in to either save the day or make the final call. Perhaps for the best.
