We better pray Bibby is here next year!...

With Adelman being gone, we need a true leader. No one played or lead the team better then Mike Bibby when Webber, Divac, Bobby, or Peja left. We need Bibby to be a true captain next year. To keep our team playing like a team and feeling like a family.

All we need is the wrong coach to come in and drive Ron Artest outta town...

cross your fingers.

Ehh...what's the point of this thread again? Yeah, Bibby is a great player and leader, we all know.

Seriously, Bibby is truly now the only person remaining from the good ol' days. Something tells Bibby won't last that long either, if he leaves, ARCO is going to be calling for someone's head unless we get players that are really good in return.

Uh, wha....Doesn't anyone remember the pre-Artest days. Wow, how times change.

I hope Bibby stays, and I think he will, I don't see a huge dumping of players coming.

Yep, seems like just yesterday. Time flies, things change... but I definitely do not want to see Bibby go.

ill be honest with all of you
the only thing holding me near the Kings is Bibby. Not that I wont love the Kings if they get traded, but its just I became a fan during those glory days and I became a fan because of HOW THEY PLAYED and if he leaves I dunno whats gonna happen.
I mean you love a team because of how they play. The only thing that will keep me with the Kings is ARCO. If they destroy ARCO.....oy vey

I honestly could care less. Old Kings are done. Bibby or no Bibby really won't make a difference. Might as well get rid of everyone from the old Kings and start a new.

I'm not too worried about Ron and another coach, it'll be a fitting replacement.

Unless it'd be Nellie, then, well who knows.

if anyone else goes i want it in this order:

1. Miller

its that simple. or kenny thomas. but i think if bibby is gone then artest won't be happy. and he needs to be happy.

I never really thought of Bibby as much of a leader. I never felt he was comfortable in that role. If he was the leader, then how come Artest stepped into a new team and immediately took over? I think if Bibby was comfortable in that role, I don't know if that would have happened.

Don't get me wrong, I think Bibby is a talented player. But leader? Yeah, maybe one of the leaders because he is a vet and he has been here a while, but I think we're in trouble if he's our ONLY leader.

I don't think Bibby's future here has anything to do with Adelman really. I don't see him being gone because of this move.

Does it really matter ? If Kings can improve and have to give up Bibby - so be it. Same goes for everyone.

People need to get their priorities straight-

im a kings fan first and a kings players fan second...

that being said..

who the hell thinks bibby is a leader? and if they wanna speak up about bibby being a leader i direct you towards our 18-26 record at the beginning of the year.

i dont want to lose bibby- because to be honest there are few people better at his position, but if he were to leave, eh, whatever, long as we got something good in return.

You should be.

Gotta know Ron's history, and Bonzi's too for that matter. Wrong coach = trouble. Guaranteed.

What the hell is this thread about? Bibby was never the leader of this team except when the fans said he was. Divac, Doug, and Webb all had more significant leadership roles. When Webb left the team fell apart without any leadership. When Ron came the team gelled. Ron and Bonzi are the true leaders of this team, playing hard and with heart every night. They lead by example and get everyone else to play better. Mike played great individual ball even when everyone else left, so I guess in that capacity he can lead himself well. But when has he ever led this team? It was said that the King's were "Mike's team" this year, but that got us nowhere. Mike leads the offense when he's on the floor (sometimes). Fans just started saying he's the leader and somehow that stuck. It hasn't shown anything on the floor.

can you read?

If Bibby leaves, and a ****ty coach comes in, theres a good chance that Ron Artest will leave, and do i need to say more about the future of our team???

Bibby will be the glue next year, keeping our team strong... When Peja left, the week of, Bibby played the best basketball Ive seen in years, he didnt let it affect him... We need that next year.

These guys are professionals, they should be able to play through a trade. They will have the whole training camp with this new coach. Change can be good. I think things will be fine. I don't think the Maloofs and Petrie are going to bring in a coach that isn't going to sit well with Artest. That isn't smart for anyone.

I also think the fact that Adelman won't be here increases the possibility that Bonzi will be. Bonzi wants to be here, it was noted that Bonzi's agent was approached by the maloofs at one of the last games expressing their interest, and it will give Artest 1 of 2 things he wanted in the off season.

No your right... Bibby didn't lead Arizona to NCAA championship.

Using that logic, Corliss should be our leader. He has been here the longest, has won a championship, has led Arkanas to NCAA title and has been MVP and the the most oustanding player in final four.

College and NBA are two totally different things.

Honestly, I just never felt Bibby was comfortable in the leadership role. I think he has the resume to be a good leader, but there are also different types of leaders- I think he can still provide leadership as a vet. I never really felt too confident with it being "Bibby's team". I like the guy, don't get me wrong, but I didn't think he was the best team leader.

Ah yes-

let us compare the Apples of the NCAA to the oranges of the NBA shall we...

Merdiesel lets further analyze your bibby leadership role..

Perhaps his performance in last years playoff series vs the sonics is what enticed you to follow him, or was it this years performance vs the spurs...hmm..perhaps him helping the team get off to a 18-26 start...or was it Vlade and Webb hooking him up with amazing pick and rolls...

...uho...Artest has come in and taken over...If bibby was a leader...a TRUE leader as you so well praise, he wouldnt be taking a backseat like he is.

bibby is good...but hes no leader...he earned his paycheck in the 2002 WCF...then the community kept forcing a leadership roll on him when webber left because there was noone else on the team that could even remotely resemble it.

how bout we stop trying to make someone something he isnt. Bibby is a great #2 option, but a TRUE leader, like Webb leads on AND off the court...he talked the talk, and backed it up...if he would have told the media that he needed to step up and be the leader...you damn well better believe he would have. Bibby brought it upon himself by telling the media "i need to be the leader" or whatever he said, and didnt back it up. Big deal. However much i wasnt expecting to say it when we traded for him. Artest is our leader now, deal with it.

Well said.

If trading Bibby improves this team then I am all for it. Everyone else is gone, why is Bibby more special than the other players that put this franchise on the map?

i think as a kings fans, after hearing that adelman is not coming back, i got excited... i have never been a fan of him after we blew our 2001-2002 season.

nxt MILLER needs to go... why u ask me! thats because hes not a center

BIBBY... ALTHOUGH I LOVE THIS GUY, i think we should trade him.... we could get a good replacement for him... HE's not the same player anymore.

Ron Artest is our leader. Pressure was too much for Bibby. You guys act like if anymore pieces of our Kings part as if Ron Artest is going to explode. I doubt it'll happen again. Artest is the most sane person I know. :D

Artest is our leader. Period.

But we'd better keep Bibby, because he'll be deadly when paired with KG. :D
~~

It's nice to dream, but we wouldn't get KG without trading Bibby, Artest, Bonzi, etc. They'd tell us to keep that lame duck Miller. With how Artest and Bonzi have been for us, the Wolves would definately want them if they gave up KG, don't think they wouldn't.
