We are the WORST team in the NBA!

Just wondering who I offended with my post on this thread - that it got deleted? I attacked no one personally. I used no vulgar language.
The subject of the thread: We are the worst team in the NBA!
My 2 cents: Yes, we are pathetic. It would be easier to tolerate if we had a team full of young players with potential.
Was my analogous reference to a 'stillborn baby' offensive to someone? If it was, let me say that I was not trying to be inflammatory. I thought I was making the point that the lack of ability of this roster is clearly apparent, and that we don't need to give it more time before passing judgment (as some have suggested).
If using this particular analogy is out-of-bounds, please send me a private message and I will try to be more sensitive with my analogies in the future.
Thank you.

Don't sweat it. Somebody reported it, and I presume it was the stillborn reference, so I'm guessing it was pulled just in case of sensitivity. Unless the original mod has an objection I'll go edit out the issue and restore the meat of the post.

Thanks, and yes I did get a private message from someone who thought that was an insensitive term to use.

For the morbidly curious, here are our averages so far.

(The less bad)
Salmons: 18 pts (51.7% shooting), 5 reb, 7.5 asst, 3 TO, 0 stl, 1 blk, 36.5 min
Martin: 20 pts (44.4% shooting), 2 reb, 1.5 asst, 1.5 TO, 1.5 stl, .5 blk, 40 min
Garcia: 13.5 pts (48.0% shooting), 6 reb, 2.5 asst, 1.5 TO, 1.5 stl, .5 blk, 29.5 min
Miller: 12.5 pts (48.0% shooting), 4 reb, 1.5 asst, 1 TO, 1.5 stl, 0 blk, 31 min
Watkins: 4 pts (40.0% shooting), 3 reb, 0 asst, 1 TO, 0 stl, .5 blk, 12.5 min
Douby: 6 pts (35.3% shooting), 2.5 reb, 1.5 asst, 2 TO, .5 stl, 0 blk, 23 min

(The more bad)
Moore: 5 pts (28.6% shooting), 3.5 reb, 1 asst, .5 TO, .5 stl, 0 blk, 22 min
Greene: 1 pts (25.0% shooting), 1 reb, 1 asst, 2 TO, .5 stl, 0 blk, 16 min
SAR: 3 pts (14.3% shooting), 3.5 reb, 1 asst, 0 TO, .5 stl, 0 blk, 16 min
KT: 0 pts (0/3 shooting), 3 reb, .5 asst, .5 TO, 0 stl, 0 blk, 13 min

The only players who are totally sucking are our veteran bigs and Greene. Douby's kind of marginal. The rest of the team is only moderately sucking, if at all. If the coaching staff play their cards right, by the time Beno arrives and Justin, Ron and Mike are back, we could have risen to the level of below average. Maybe not in time to get 35 wins or anything, but still... we won't be the worst team during February-April.

Why is our back up shooting guard averaging more rebounds than our center!? and now nobody in their right mind is gonna take KT! Gah, ron, mike, you cant come back any sooner..

Why is our back up shooting guard averaging more rebounds than our center!?

I'm guessing it's the same reason that Douby has as many blocks as Watkins, Miller, Moore, SAR and KT combined. Or why our backup GF has three times as many assists as both of our supposed PGs put together, and still has less TOs.

1) Roster where the parts don't fit well
2) Roster where the parts aren't very good regardless of fit
3) Roster where key parts are missing
4) Team which realizes the above, and has resigned themselves to losing

Don't forget that not only are we the worst, we're the unlucky as well.
...man I hope this Cal Expo arena plan goes through...Indian Burial Ground Arena...err..Arco Arena, has been nothing but heartbreak and bad luck for the most part...even when we were in contention, the Indian spirits were pissed at us, for what reason I have no idea, and favored the Lakers, obviously.

While it's too early to judge the team after only 2 games, one thing is obvious: Our "bigs" are only big at sucking. Miller, Moore, Thomas, and Shareef are not just the biggest waste of money, but are a complete and utter disgrace to the center and power forward positions. They are useless, soft, have no desire to win, and seem like aren't even trying. I seriously can't believe what I'm seeing from our big guys. They are not playing post-up like they should.

I was watching the Lakers game last night, and noticed Bynum's game. I thought, why the hell do none of our players play that way? Why don't our bigs do hook-shots from close range anymore? Why not back your defender up, and either get fouled, get an easy layup, or get double teamed and kick it off for a wide open 3? THOSE ARE EASY SHOTS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT, yet our pathetic laughing stock of the NBA big men are:

1. Shooting hooks WHILE JUMPING SIDEWAYS ON ONE LEG -- Kenny Thomas
2. Not doing anywhere near WHAT HE SHOULD BE DOING IN THE PAINT -- Miller
3. Not doing ANYTHING -- Mikki Moore
4. And Shareef .... No comment.

This season is definitely not looking good, and it won't until Petrie actually understands basketball better, because our main problem is obvious. And he sings pathetic players, and doesn't do any trades.

ANY TRADE THAT WAS PROPOSED TO US IN THE OFFSEASON WOULD'VE MADE THE TEAM BETTER RIGHT NOW, Sad truth.

Come back Bibby, Hawes, and Artest

c'mon, their farewell wishlists are fulfilled and this team is going nowhere so why an heroic act, just simply keep quite and collect the paychecks.
Hope Theus plays ping pong better than Muss.

Absolutely. GP isn't going to trade Bibby and Ron for no talent in return. I suspect the reason they haven't been traded is because other teams think they have us over a barrel and are unwilling to offer equal talent in return.

Not trading Bibby at mid-season last year or in the offseason was stupid. Patience is a two-way street. Sure, you have the opportunity to get something better by waiting. You also have the potential to get something worse. Petrie rolled craps on this one. Bibby has no value for this year because of his injury. We'll be talking about his trade value next summer, maybe. Great rebuilding job, Petrie!

Better days will come for the Kings!Mark my words.

I totally agree. First of all, I believe the Kings are not the worst team in the league because we are without Ron Artest (you can love him or hate him but he is a premier defender), Mike Bibby (he did his worst last season but give him a chance to prove himself this season), and the first round pick Hawes which hasn't even stepped on the court and played a single game. To those who say the Kings are pathetic, give them a chance when everyone is healthy and played on the court. Also, the Kings have played two games which amounts to hardly nothing, it amounts to getting feet wet and there is a hell of a lot more basketball to be played.
