Warriors? IN

Kings113

All-Star
Well, I didn't think they could do it, but they did, and suddenly got healthy. I predicted wrong (this year :p). Congrats to the fans and team, they deserve it.

Don't think the Warriors will win more than a game against Dallas, but most of the games should be really fun. Overall should be an interesting, enjoyable series.

Go Warriors !!

I know we're all Kings fans here but our rivalry with GS is a fairly friendly one and I am thrilled that they have finally broken the curse (and that the Kings helped them get there).

Obviously they are underdogs with Dallas, but you never know !

Lols at the Clipps. Biz as usual.

true enough, but by the time the Clippers lost, it didn't matter one way or the other (as GSW had already won), and my guess would be that the players knew that.

Congrats to the Warriors and their fans. Its been a long time coming.

Sorry, I'm bucking the tide. I did NOT appreciate the actions of the Warriors fans in Arco. So, for me, it's...

Haha...I always root for the Pistons. Ever since they spanked the Lakers a couple years back (we woulda beaten em that season though!).

I'm still gonna be rootin for the Warriors against the Mavs though...I smell upset!

Well, I'll take Warriors over Clips this time. As someone here aptly evaluated the situation, "Jason Hart missed the playoffs with two teams in one season" and you know, my Hart isn't breaking for that (hey, journalists do this lame stuff day in and day out, why can't I?) considering some of his remarks.

I'm now rooting for Cavs in the East and Phoenix in the West (BEAT LA!!!).

That franchise is just cursed and terrible. I feel bad for all the clipper fans in the history of western civilization.

I'm convinced that they're all masochists. If I were a blue chipper, there's no way I would play for Donald Sterling. There's no point to it. The Clipps do have more overall talent than the Kobies, but there's that humongous gap between fan expectations and winning culture. I'm sure you'll agree that winning culture is a tangible asset now that the Kings have made it to the playoffs 8 years in a row, even with this year's speedbump. Sterling also hates giving out huge contracts so there would be no chance of me becoming the next Allan Houston. In my playing daze, I was an Allan Houston or a Dell Curry, sweet shot, no D, hated passing. ;) I'd be out there crying for the ball like Danny Ainge.

What difference does it make? Get buzz-sawed by the Mavericks or sit back and get ready for the Draft. This way, they get a week's head start on the Draft, rather than flying back and forth halfway across the country to lose four games, probably in a row.

I'm rootin' for Webb to get his ring so he can shove it in everyone's face.

You and me both, brother.

In fact, there are three guys who used to post around these parts that I have in mind, specifically...

;)

Yeah... just like Antoine Walker and Jason Williams can shove it in everyone's face... Pistons were my favorite team in the east the last couple of years, but you just made me root against them every single round :)

Would it then be considered better than the ring that Mitch Richmond or even Samaki Walker got :).
How come he is not put at the same level as Malone when he joined the lakers and if he had won a ring with that team.
Its not like he is the franchise player winning it for the team even if it happens.

I dont expect pistons to come out of the east :) due to stern belief

Because Webber is an integral part of the team's resurgence and improved play, perhaps?

Because Malone chose to go somewhere else and Webber was traded away?

I was trying to be nice, because I assume there are some better-behaved Warriors fans, but I was not happy to here some of the reports of Warrior fan behavior at Arco. Just rude.

I, too, am rooting for the Pistons [Webber;) ].

DING! DING! DING!

Winner winner, chicken dinner! In fact, that's exactly what many of us were saying at the time, leastways in terms of why not so many people minded Payton going to the Lakers, and everybody snubbed Malone. Payton didn't leave the Sonics: whether he would have done or not is immaterial. He didn't leave, he was booted out. As was Webber. Malone, on the other hand, left for "greener pastures," and tarnished his legacy in the process.

Webber was not traded  and situations are very very very similar

Pistons were playing at the same level before and after, you will definitely see some difference here and there but that was seen even with Samaki Walker on the lakers, like that huge buzzer beating three he made :)

Webber was not traded
Yes he was. The hell are you talking about?

It doesn't matter that he wasn't traded from the team he was on LAST; what matters is that he was traded from the team where he made his reputation. That's why the situations aren't analogous.

If Karl Malone had been traded from the Jazz, and THEN joined the Lakers, then you could compare what he did with Webber. Webber's situation is more analogous to Payton's where he was traded from the team where he made his name, and then simply didn't feel any obligation to the team where he ended up.

Greener pastures, HOW ?

He apparently took lesser money, he was not making both the actual money and the extra that Webber is making now. We dont know if Jazz wanted to retain him, they wanted to go in a different direction and so did he, they did not treat him well during the final years.

Very similar, chosing a team that is a contender with or without you but can be significantly benefitted by adding another experienced player. Impact is not expected and teams fortunes dont depend on that impact, but if there is any that is a bonus for the team.

If he had joined the knicks and taken them to the playoffs, maybe, maybe I will give some credit.

Malone did not reduce the effort on the court during the Jaz days just cos he didnt like what was going on, you could get the same effort day in and day out, unlike some who tanked it cos they couldnt survive in the system and was pouting every day to the team, media and the owner. Was fined for missing the last game of the season, whether it is relevant game or not you are expected to play the game, are the other 10 guys who showed up fools.

I understand that there is a relationship between Webber and this fan base but I also see that you guys are far more lenient to him than with any other player including some of your own, past or present.

Chris Webber didn't spend his entire career playing for one team, then, as a free agent, decide to go join a team that had two of the best players in the NBA and a nine-time champion coach. He got traded away from the team where he became known as a truly elite player, spurned by the team he wound up with, and then decided to join a team that wanted and needed him.

There are very few similarities between Karl Malone of 2004 and Chris Webber of 2007.

I guess in vladetomiller's America, the only standard for "greener pastures" is money. If that's the case, I suppose that I can understand why you wouldn't think of bolting a team heading towards rebuilding for a team that was considered to be the front-runners for the championship was a "greener pastures" situation.

I however, don't live in vladetomiller's America, and saw it for what it was.

There are very few similarities between Karl Malone of 2004 and Chris Webber of 2007.
Aside from the fact that they're both great power forwards in the twilight of their careers, I can't think of any.

Eh, look at it this way: They've been "tolerating" the actions of Kings fans in "Arco West" for a good, oh, 8 years now. "Arco West"; I didn't just make that up.

Payback's a... Well, you know.
