Wallace guarantees Pistons will win Game 4 (merged)

CLEVELAND -- The Detroit Pistons will win Game 4 -- guaran-Sheed.

One day after an 86-77 loss to the Cavaliers cut Detroit's series lead in half, forward Rasheed Wallace, the irrepressible motor mouth from the Motor City, boldly declared the Pistons would win Game 4.

On top of that, Wallace proclaimed the best-of-seven series over.

"I know we're going to win it," Wallace said sitting on the scorer's table following Sunday practice at Quicken Loans Arena. "We're going to bust their [butt]. Tomorrow night is the last game here in this building for this year."

Sheesh, Sheed. Anything else big fella?

"Y'all can quote me, put it back page, front page, whatever," Wallace said.

"They can send whoever they want to send. I know the crew I think they're going to send. But it don't matter. I know we can do it, and they know we can do it. We know what we've got to do."

Although he said he respects the Cavs, Wallace isn't worried about giving them any motivation.

"It ain't bulletin board material, it's a fact," he said bluntly. "They can put it on the bulletin board. They can put it on a video. I don't care. I know what we're capable of doing, that's all that it is."

Wallace has gone prognosticator before in the playoffs, placing his neck on the line to inspire his teammates. And, the Pistons have responded with a win every time.

"That's what we do," Wallace said.

Every year Sheed says something, I think it gets the team fired up. He also said there were only a couple of teams where they couldn't make any mistakes playing them and the Cavs were not one of them.

The thing about Ron is he doesn't say it with venom. He doesn't say we're going to whip their ***, or blah blah blah. He just says we're not going to lose, and leaves it at that. I like the quiet confidence versus the thuggish confidence.

I would agree with that. There's a big difference there. He tries to fire his team up more, rather than undermine the competition.
 
There's another difference -- Ron just talks out of his ***, whereas Sheed unfortunately knows his team really has the goods to back it up.

Nonetheless, ONE of these days they won't, and then it becomes as sad as the dying days of the Lakers smackfest dynasty, yappity yappity yap, without the goods to back it up.

It sounds like's also guaranteeing a Game 5 victory too...still not as bold a statement as Ron's first round victory, but bold nevertheless.

Pistons defense has been something to behold in this third quarter...they just took the Cavs out of anything that they wanted to do. Did Lebron even have a point in the third?
 
O man- i hope the cavs win- i dislike sheed- it would be worth it seeing it on his face to have his foot in his mouth....well...until they win the championchip
 
Oh tsk tsk Sheed. Not only sticking his foot in his mouth, but shooting 3-13 and not even being on the floor down the stretch.

Didn't look terribly happy about it either. Be interesting to see how the Pisttons respond to being punched in the mouth.

Well, still probably noit ready for that, but if they did somehow pull it off...yikes, the LeBron Era would be started a few years ahead of schedule.
 
the league must be very happy their poster boy and his team evened this series up. its inevitable that the pistons advance and i wish they would close this out already.
