I'm not at that point. Yes, some really crap stuff has gone on but it's not unforgivable and it's not irreversible...yet. I want to see what PDA has to say tomorrow although I'm not at all confident it will ease all our angst and fears. I also want to see what happens in the days to come.
I have 30 years invested in this team. My mom was a fan until her death. My daughter and son-in-law are fans. My grand-daughters are fans. The passion does indeed run deep in our family. I am not about to throw it all away because our new GM is an idiot.
Vivek may be a lot of things but he is not a fool and he is more social media savvy than just about any owner not named Mark Cuban. I'm fairly sure he's totally involved in figuring out a way to fix this. He has millions and millions and millions of dollars invested in the Kings, the new arena and the surrounding development, as do his partners. He did not get to be where he is by piling bad decision upon bad decision.
I know his Twitter account has blown up with messages from Kings fans who are not satisfied with what's happened. Every media outlet in the basketball world has people trying to contact him. He took some time off to spend with his family over the holidays but I'm guessing he's going to be back at work Monday - just in time to tune in and listen to PDA try and get himself out of the mess he created.
Right now, there are a million theories about what's going to happen next but none of us know for sure. Tomorrow could be the first day in a total revision of NBA 3.0. I can wait that long.
