Vlade is dirty!

I haven't seen it but Vlade did push Turkoglu last season vs the Spurs. Remember? Hedo fouled him, not even hard and Vlade got ticked off and pushed him.

I remember that play. It was Vlade who fouled Hedo. It happened under the basket as Hedo was driving to the basket. They both got tangled and Vlade kind of shoved Turkoglu's arms down. Hedo turned away and laughed it off while Vlade looked kind of irritated. The play resulted in free throws for Hedo, and I remember Webb going over and saying some stuff to him.... I guess in hopes that he would miss the shots, but he didn't.

edit: either Finley didn't realize that Vlade's no longer a King, or he has it out for his own teammate. Damn, Finley is evil!

This story reminds me of a retired sheriff that I know. On the night he retired after 30 years on the force, he ran a red light on purpose just because he could. Apparently, after years of being forced to remain under control at all times, he just got a kick out of breaking the law. He must have become aggressive after years of repressing emotion.

I have difficulty repressing emotion for more than five minutes. Vlade lasted a long time. I think that he whacked Bradley simply because he could.

Oh well.

Bradley throws more vicious and deliberate elbows than anybody short of Deke now that Malone's retiired. I'm willing to bet that was Vlade paying back Bradley for some cheap shot.

I've watched Vlade Divac his entire career. I have NEVER seen him do anything like that and the only way I could even begin to conceive of it happening would be if it was some kind of retaliation for something Bradley had done earlier, most likely to Vujacic or one of the other smaller guys.

This is just totally out of character for Vlade - and there has to be more to the story.

Well, he is a Laker now...

;)

It's also typical inconsistent suspension BS that I've railed about time and time again. Nowitzki gave an intentional bow to Jumaine Jones. I don't see him serving a suspension. Why is that?

Not even the same thing. Vlade's looked premediated, planned, and was entirely gratuitous. I can only assume Dirk's came while the game was actually being played.

He was shaking guys off him after grabbing a rebound and with elbows up, turned around and got Jones in the jaw.

Malone was shaking guys off as well last year and caught Nash with a elbow and he got suspended. That being said the reason I think Vlade got a suspension was because it was premeditated and on purpose, and Dirk didn't get one because (like it or not) people think of him as soft and not a dirty player. Malone got a game last year because he was thought of as a "dirty" player.

LOL. Everyone know's Dirk is a "soft Euro" so it must have been an accident, right? Who'd of thought being labelled soft would have benifits?

...maybe Peja should get in on this racket.

"What? Peja kicked Fortsen in the groin? Nah...not Peja! He's soft! He couldn't have done it on purpose." :D

Vlade the Potty

Did Vlade have a Lakers jersey on when he tipped that rebound to Robert Horry in 2002? I need to rewind that tape again.

No, but I have footage of him doing that same thing years ago, with Tim Hardaway the recipient. He also hit the free 3 pointer, of course.

I told my wife about the Vlade-Bradley incident. She doesn't know anything about Bradley. After being surprised that Vlade would hit anybody, simply concluded that, and I quote, "If Vlade whacked Bradley, he must have needed it."

Nothing more need be said. :)

Malone saw Nash swiping at the ball, and thus shifted his body so his elbow would land in Nash's face. Call it a veteran move if you will, but he got caught. Jones was behind Dirk (facing the basket), and with elbows up Dirk turned around and caught Jones in the jaw. Unlike the Malone/Nash incident, you can say this incident happened while a play was in progress.
