VF21 pledge for the 2005 playoffs

I'm already considering that I may have to eat my words (about the Kings and their chances in this year's playoffs) with some favre beans and perhaps a fine Chablis (I don't care for Chianti). As the Kings head in to the playoffs, I'm making a couple of promises:

1. I promise NOT to compare this group of players to any team in the past. They are different, they are unique and they deserve their own recognition.
2. I promise NOT to think negative thoughts. It's the playoffs, a time of hope and excitement. From this point forward, ANYTHING is possible and I'm going to enjoy every moment of the ride for as long as it lasts.
3. I promise NOT to let people like Steve Kerr, Marc Stein, Chad Ford, etc. influence my feelings about this team one way or another. I haven't bought into their hype all year so I shouldn't start now.
4. I promise TO cheer my loudest - whether I'm in my living room, at a gathering with other fans somewhere like Players, or in Arco. I LOVE THIS TEAM!
5. I promise TO remember that it's a game - but it's the best damned game around and I don't know what I'd do without it.
6. I promise TO respect my fellow Kings fans and to share WITH them the excitement of the playoffs.

never give up on this TEAM

watch PO only as long as the Kings are in it

root AGAINST - Sonics , Mavs, Spurs, Suns, Heat ans Sixers

vigorously blame Finley

enjoy / suffer with every second of every Kings PO game

get wasted every time Kings win a game

get some more wasted in case of Kings winning a series

yell at the TV using all sorts of profanities

continue blaming Finley

In case of some incredible miracle I would sober up before the new season but it would not matter anyway. Hell, I would not even mind a lock out season

Okay, I shall take my own pledge....it is much simpler.

I hereby pledge to continue loving the Sacramento Kings (and their fans), no matter what. I accept that while winning is what we are after, I will enjoy the game....win or lose.
