Tyrekes Arrest video

Not only does this put this back on the front burner with fans and media. The video gives it legs.

It confirms a lot of speed, in traffic, with at least a little racing.

at night and/or out on some deserted stretch of I-5 you dufus. Not directly under the helicopters.

Or alternatively nowhere and never. :p

Driving a little fast occasionally is one thing, but I don't need Tyreke auditioning for the next sequel to The Fast and The Furious.

Breaking News - Kings Hire Driving Coach for Tyreke Evans

Glad its over with since the sentencing already came out.

Just like other greats such as MJ, Tyreke is a thrill seeker and hates to lose. Its a quality thats needed to be great in sports.

I think he learned his lesson. Hopefully his 21st bday bash in Vegas will be supervised. I'm glad the Maloofs own a casino in Vegas where the party will most likely be held. At least they can keep it under control a lot easier.

lol He was driving really fast for a looonnggg time. If i ever want a cop to point a gun at me ill be sure to drive over 100mph for a good 5 minutes or so.

LOL NME! Good stuff.
Watched the video on SacBee and thought I was watching NASCAR on the big oval. Tyreke is very lucky he's not doing jail time. His car must have been clean of herb and he seemed very docile around the cops.

And he looked a little trailer-trashy, too!
Gee, I thought he looked pretty much like a typical young guy.

So Evans bought a "purple" Mercedes. Good color choice. ;) Nice car.

I'm so glad no one got hurt. I hope Tyreke learned his lesson well. He was obviously well-behaved after he was pulled over...his friend, too. I am curious if they pulled over that other driver who was certainly haulin' a**, too.

Inexcusable. I would assume that a lesson has been learned. Somehow saying that he didn't know he was going that fast just flies in the face of logic. His first clue should have been that he was passing cars that probably appeared to be parked, but wern't, and that were doing 65 to 70 milels per hour. I don't know about you, but I would have picked that up after the first mile. So please don't insult my intelligence by saying you didn't know you were going that fast.

Anyway, over and done with. Hopefully!

Well how was he supposed to know they weren't parked? Remember he was used to the freeways of L.A.... :p

hahah I think Tyreke's youth and competitiveness got the best of him. Like other great athletes, he hates to lose... at ANYTHING!

Another thing... nice to see the arrest go down with no illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons... yes Tyreke was wreckless driving, but that is about 1000x better, in my book, than Chapu and Musselman's DUIs.

It's MERLOT!!! (you know what that's from?)

Wait... Why is he at gunpoint? This was not a felony stop was it?

The explanation I have heard for why he was at gunpoint was the tinted windows on the vehicle - the police can't see in to see if somebody might be drawing on them. Still, I wonder if that sort of treatment is standard for 130 MPH stops. Somebody driving that fast might be unpredictable.

Obviously, he thought that his speedometer was in kilometers and doing a quick conversion in his head figured he was doing no more than 80 MPH.

I was pulled over for 105 in a 45 on Sunrise Blvd early in the morning, and it was just a routine stop.. Ticketed me for 105, and I was on my way.

Ah, the KHTK spin. Mike Lamb just played the “I’ve seen the video and still I don’t think he knew how fast he was going card.” Ie – he was just speeding and he didn’t realize he’d worked his way up to that speed. I’d say the part of the video where Tyreke gets caught in traffic, the silver car pulls away, and once Tyreke gets an opening …he accelerates quickly to his top speed and closes that distance in a few seconds … renders that point a joke.

Live, learn, forget.

He was compliant, apologized, and thankfully didn't hurt anybody. Some of those sacbee comments are repulsive, but that is why I stopped reading after the first two comments.

Either way, he's a young guy who was testing his beast of a car out to see how fast it can actually go. Was it right? No. But, when he repeats this offense, then we can saying how much of a moron he is.

Guns drawn and handcuffs for speeding ?

Again, intital motorcycle cop on scene was alone and did not know what he was potentially up against. Because Tyreke's windows were tinted darker than permited under CA law cop could not see who or how many individuals were in the car. Once second officer arrived he also drew his weapon as two persons detained were under control but it was still not clear if more people were inside the stopped vehicle. Handcuffs were only on both "detained" individuals for a few minutes in what was a possible felony stop but in the end Tyreke and his friend WERE NOT arrested.

Thats all we need is Tyreke going 110 miles an hour >.> He looked like he was about to crash a couple times. I can't believe he did that, what was he thinking? I guees he's got a little NASCAR in him.
