Tyreke Evans

anyone who thinks reke wont get ROY is completely out of their mind...

whats more impressive is that he didnt force the pass or force to get a rebound... he did what he could to get us the win... not to get his first career triple double...

that's class right there for you...

REKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're going to bring up other players, Spencer Hawes deserves major props, too.

As Westphal just said, "this is the way we want our team to play every night."

I am proud of our team, win or lose, but what I saw tonight really gave me goosebumps. This team could get very interesting. It's indeed a good time to be a Kings fan.

If the Kings can become consistent with this type of play then I think the future will be very bright.

There are NO questions!!!!

There are NO Questions with Tyreke. None at all! :D

Props where props are DUE! Hawes had a very efficient game. Not dominating defensively, but he did enough. Not a dominant rebounder, but he got the boards we needed the most. 12 boards against a fantastic rebounding team. The shot he made, the flip shot that missed that he rebounded over the top of the Jazz flat footed and put it back up to score was the kind of effort we NEED from Spencer. He WANTED that rebound, and he WANTED that score. I am very happy with this game. It made my weekend.

Everyone played a part. Beno looked terrific! Cisco showed some flashes of returning to form. Landry was our steady inside guy. Landry was a +13 tonight. Nocconi came in and hit a coupla threes. Casspi didn't have a good offensive game but he put in minutes that mattered. Udoka was not great but he played defense and stepped up when it mattered. Sean May came in and played the minutes to give Hawes the rest he needed. May wasn't a world beater, but his 7 points were part of the collective whole. Dorsey had 4 rebounds. Yea, the free throws and the rebounds were not very good, but they fought through that and got the win anyway. There were no lulls in the game. No bad quarters. It was a good game all 48 minutes! It was a whole team effort against a team in Utah that has been RED HOT and was killing teams on the road. I know the Kings match up well against Utah for whatever reason, but this effort tonight was so encouraging and as bad as things had been for the last 72 hours with all the talk of a disgruntled locker room, this effort was just what the doctor ordered!

Evans was 24/8/7 in a game that looked for all the world like he was going to get a triple double early in the third. Utah threw the kitchen sink at 'Reke, and they put the clamps on Tyreke. BUT unlike other games, his team mates stepped up! Then, after missing that second free throw that would have put the Kings up 2 scores late and the HUGH defensive stand to get the ball back, they went BACK to Tyreke. And then he proceeded to made the kind of shot a closer makes! A shot that you have to have to win games. He took it to the rim and scored over great defense. Tyreke is so clutch! I was very impressed by that particular score. It was a "for the win" kind of shot. Everyone in the arena knew that Evans was going to get the ball, and he got the ball with like 11 seconds left on the clock, and he took a VERY good defender in Deron Williams to the rack and not only scored over him, but the help defense that came to his assistance. The kind of shot that says "I AM THE ROY!!" You can't say enough about that score! The KID is 20 friggin years OLD !!! He is already one of the premier guards in the league! What does the future hold for this kid? When he gets a consistent jumper, how do teams even slow this kid down? I am SO impressed by Tyreke Evans! He makes the other team focus their entire defensive effort on him, and he still takes it to them and scores anyway! When the rest of the team starts making their shots, Tyreke's assist totals will rise even higher. He just went at the entire Utah Jazz TEAM at the end and closed them OUT! I could go on and on about how impressive this kid is. There is no question in my mind anymore. NONE! He is our Superstar! He is the Sacramento Kings franchise player. He is the face of the franchise for years to come.

Yeah, yeah, rookie, schmookie and all but Evans is a slacker! His stats for tonight's game should have been his season average. ;)

I really enjoyed the fact that this is the 3rd meeting against that team and he is clearly comfortable as hell against them. That's a team that is known for its physicality no matter who is on the roster and he has handled them all year.

Also its clear he's got potential to be the LBJ of the NBA point guards, or what prime Shaq was to the NBA centers. A physically imposing matchup for anybody in that position. If D Will(a bigger PG in his own right) has trouble with him now, imagine the trouble he will have when he faces Reke with Jumper:eek:, just a unfair matchup league wide.

I really like Beno and Evans together on the court. I mentioned a few weeks back that they had played well together with Beno playing the Goodrich role scoring off the ball and the occasional play making. He's a very solid shooter and can feed off of Evans and he can pass and play the two man game with Spencer really well. Together they have some dynamic options with Hawes on the floor as well.

Ity was that way early in the year as well -- with Beno starting we are 8-9. With Beno and Reke together maybe 6-6? Trying to remember how many games Beno has started with Reke out.

Yeah this combo was very effective early in the season. Not sure why Westphal went away from it other than preping for Martins return. Still, not a legit reason Though untile Martin did return. Anyway, I'd stay with this combo till the end of the season. It shows that Tyreke doesn't have a problem sharing the floor with another ballhandler that can score.

Its going to be so exciting watching Tyreke in the not so distant future featured in national TV ads wearing a Kings jersey. This kid is only 20 and will only improve year after year. A star is born in Sacramento.

Not a question, but I have yet to see Tyreke pass to Hawes in the post. Is that just a decoy play or what. I understand the side to side offense, when he swings the ball but come on. Just pass it to him once or twice a game. I would actually like to see Hawes work on his post game, at least a little bit.

That being said, I noticed Tyreke did a better job of getting rid of the ball earlier which seemed like a big reason we won.

There are NO questions!!!!

There are no Questions in MY MIND. He is the R.O.Y. not just because of his offensive skills, but because he is already one of the best defenders at his position. The other rookies being considered for ROY are pretty much poor defenders. Tyreke is Unique in that he is more advanced defensively than offensively I think. It is a joy to watch him play defense against some of the best point guards in the league and give them fits! If he just remains on his current pace, he will do enough offensively and he certainly does enough defensively to get the ROY. A well rounded all around good player. At 20 !!
