Tyreke buzzer beater! NBA USO game in Hawaii.

Just watched Reke drain a long jumper to beat the 4th quarter buzzer in a tied up exhibition game. I guess that is about as close as I can get to some sort of NBA fix. Hit it over Mike Miller who was just about the only player on the court interested in defense.

Reke looked fairly sharp with his handles and quickness. Also had a very nice athletic dunk. Passing was way too sloppy but about the norm for these type of games.

I just saw this video about 5 minutes ago. That was a rainbow shot! Don't care much for the form, if the shot goes it goes...let's hope it goes when the games count.

Not sure I would judge a persons form on a last second shot. Also doubt he will ever have a good looking shot, but as kingsboi said if it goes it goes!

Mac always has something to say about his form. Let me ask you this, for the guys who have the form do they also have Reke's slashing and handling ability? No. And do most guys with Reke's slashing ability also have the form on their shots? No. You know why? Cause that type of combination is only for the Kobes, Lebrons(for the most part) and Wades of the world.

Well, the point was that we hope he could end up like the Kobes, LeBrons and Wades of the world ;)

yea exactly.. if the shot goes consistently I have no issue with form. I think it should be noted though, that good form is important more often than not for pullup shots (which is what tyreke will be doing, more so than set shots) because balance and not unnecessarily fading away is impt. name me one consistent pullup shooter in the league with bad shooting form.

if we want to win a championship I think we should expect tyreke to improve to superstar level instead of just being satisfied with his ability to drive.

If Boogie develops into a superstar, could we be content with Reke as merely a star?

I don't think anyone is satisfied with Reke being mostly a beast of a driver. It'll just take some time.

And I'm perfectly fine with giving him time. All I'm saying is if you're hoping to see Reke come back next season with a consistent shot with good form then this video certainly won't give you much hope or excitement, because frankly his shot here looks the same as it did in his first season. If you read my posts throughout the season you should know that I'm very fair in giving our players time to develop individually and as a team.

Sure, but IMHO the role that Tyreke would need to play next to a superstar DMC would still involve quite a bit of pullup jumpshots. I think it's quite fair to believe that Reke getting a consistent pullup shot is essential if we want to win with him as one of our main stars, whether he's the #1 or #2 man (bearing in mind that we would most likely play a style that isn't quite like how we played in the glory days. Lets face it, it's going to be almost impossible to replicate that kind of chemistry and passing. Also, Tyreke has the potential to develop his vision and passing to the point that people stop saying he's not a point guard, but I don't think he's going to be reaching Steve Nash level at any point in his career in that aspect)

Who knows though, the make up of our team can always change as we go forward.

Tyrek needs to improve on the form of his jumPshot or his shot will always be ****ty

If he had that form and the shots went in, Reke would be in that elite category. Would people be upset at his form if the shots went in? I will bet money that as the years go by the shots begin to drop at a higher frequency no matter what his form. There have been some great shooters with bad form I suspect. Just thinking it must be a difficult sell to a guy who averages 20 points per game to re-tool his shoting form. Now, that being said, the greats DO re-tool when they know they have a problem. These are the guys who have no life other than basketball.

Wish Reke was one of them.

I get the impression Thornton is one of those guys AKA gym rats.

START THE DAMN SEASON!

I'm constantly amazed how folks can take a positive and turn it into a negative. Let me say this. Yes! Tyreke needs to expand his game, and I do think he's doing it. Maybe not as well or as fast as some would like, but it took Wade around 4 or 5 years to really develop his outside shot, and even to this day, he seldom takes 3 pt shots. Tyreke is just as talented as Wade in getting to the basket, he just doesn't have Wades leaping ability when he gets there. However he more than makes up for that with his creativity around the basket.

So in short, if Tyreke can score 20 plus points, over 6 assists a game, and grab 5 plus rebounds a game, all while shooting close to 47% from the floor, I don't give a tinkers damm about how he does it. Because if Fredette turns out to be what everyone hopes he will be, along with possible superstar Cousins, and Thornton, thats all that will be needed from Tyeke. Other than that, all he needs to do is find a way to mesh with the others.

May be easier to sell it to a guy who averages 20 points but who's team hasn't won 30 games in either of the seasons he averaged 20 points.

Let ME say this. As long as the team wins, Tyreke can take a back seat to Donte Greene for all I care. But I think that going forward the Tyreke DMC show is our best bet at winning. Yes, I won't care about Tyreke's form if he's making shots consistently and is a good shooter, but at this point is he? So is it then unreasonable to want him to improve/ re-tool his form? And I don't care if he takes 4 or 5 years to get it, as long as he gets it sooner rather than later while he still has his amazing driving ability.

I agree though, START THE DAMN SEASON so we can actually get a good look at what we've got on our team.
