tyrant rants...

don't blame your poor grammar and incorrect punctuation on me, the reader, for "skimming" it. If I had skimmed your post it would have made ZERO sense.

Ok, I'm leaving it at that. No more, even if you throw more bait out there.

Like a Canadian, I'm Oot of this thread.

I'm the skimmer to which he's referring.
I'm the one who mocked the grammar, and I will do so when it pertains to a main point the poster trying to make. Yes it's a message board, and I think most people here try to make an effort to get their point across in an effective and clear manner. As for this topic:

better/worse one year to the next just isn't important to me when the team is sub-500 both years.

To me, either the team is in the playoffs as a contender for for division championships and conference titles, or its working on developing the talent and skills of its players to contend. There is no meaningfull difference between 28-32, 25-35, or 30-31.

This season, our team in it's current incarnation is pretty lousy, and I get excited watching when our future potential is doing well, win or lose. I want more time for talent that will be here 5 years from now, and less time for the talent that won't. I don't care if that means we're 15-40 this time next year, because being 30-31 isn't really alot better.

what makes you think any of the younger guys will be here 5 years from now. we've gotten through more than half the season and you're saying that having a worse record than last year shouldnt matter. is that normal? will you say the same thing next year if our record is 29 and 36? i thought this team learned something from last year. i thought we all learned something

This is actually becoming funny. Unfortunately the time I've wasted reading this drivel is gone forever.

I'm merging this into the ongoing "tyrant rants" thread.

5 years in an eternity in the NBA. Besides a few key players on each team, pretty much every team is completely turned over in 5 years (trying to think of examples - maybe the spurs come closest of not having that level of turnover.)

Yes - if management lets Artest walk this summer and trades Miller for youth (which you seem to suggest is a desirable outcome) I would expect the team to have a worse record next year. I wouldn't necessarily love watching losses, but I would enjoy seeing future growth in the team. I suspect we'll be looking at a win total in the 20s next year which hopefully suggests an upward trend from there. Most teams sink lower than a 30+ win team when rebuilding (I acknowledge there are probably examples, so no need to cherry pick a few in a response).

thanks for your opinion. ill be sure to treat others with the same kind of respect theyve shown me when they start or post in future threads. indeed

no one has perfect grammar all the time. this is a fan board not a history essay. anyways, dont let the door knob hit ya....

No, but some of actually try to have it some of the time. And actually (quickly) proofreading your posts before hitting the "Submit Reply" does wonders for readability by removing at least the most obvious errors.

That is, of course, presuming you see lack of grammar and capitalization and punctuation as errors. Maybe that is asking a bit much?

question, have you been reading this thread? im not being funny, but if you have you will notice that the battle of wits has been taken "outside" moments ago and is no longer in this thread. feel free to post comments about the topic tho. or close it. your choice.

back to the thread. its more than just 1 game. we're farther away from .500 than we were last year at this time. some say its personnel changes, motivation, etc. i didnt agree with that because martin has had a good season, miller has had his best season as a king so far. moore is probably a tad better than kenny thomas. so who knows why we suck more. (shruggs)

Maybe injuries have something to do with it?
Maybe new players?
MAYBE, just maybe the west got tougher?

I know the effort was there, not lately, but mostly was there through out this seaon. Effort cannot be simply measured and is subjective, therefor this is just my opinion.

But why does this has anything to do with the Lakers? Why are we comparing Kings rebuilding vs Lakers?

Kobe and the Lakers vs <Insert any Kings player> and the Kings...uhh I'm not sure but Kobe alone is > Kings team. (Again my opinion...:))

My grammar is bad too. Any correction is appreciated...;).

Definitely you are ranting...hopfully you got whatever it is out of your system. Overall I think we are in a good building position. Got a good coach, a few good players with Beno, Martin, and Brad with Garcia and Salmons from the bench. Now we just need a superstar then we are set (hardest part of rebuilding.)

Don't worry. This thread is not gonna be closed. I foresee it lasting a very long time...

Three separate threads - all rants by tyrant - have been merged into one for ease of either finding or ignoring.

I always find it funny when someone tries to give an English 101 lesson and makes an error in their own post.:D

I never said I was perfect, either. ;) And I am not asking for perfection from anyone. But at least I try to use periods, capital letters, and grammar in a somewhat consistent way with what I was taught in school....

Better than we can say for some.
