Troubles for Team Dime....Again

The more I hear about Mike's Gang (opps I mean friends) the more I think they are just a bunch of punks. Here is another article regarding them....

http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports/basketball/kings/story/13874652p-14713973c.html

Street beat: Sacramento police spent two hours last week interviewing two women who say they were attacked by friends of Kings guard Mike Bibby on a Sacramento street in September. Bibby watched the assault and did not participate, the women told police. "I have twins, and they turned 21, so we hired a limo and went out to celebrate," one victim said. "There were 13 of us. Some of us were waiting in the limo when some of the kids went up to the Blue Cue. My friend saw Mike Bibby outside and asked for an autograph. He signed a napkin, but someone thought he wrote something nasty. Words were exchanged, and then it escalated." A woman and man from Bibby's group opened the limo door and grabbed one of the twins, the women told police. "There was no way I was going to let them pull out my daughter, so I threw myself across her," the mother said. "The guy grabbed my arm and punched me on top of my head. I had bruises and a bump the size of a grapefruit." The investigation is the second involving friends of the basketball player, said police Sgt. Justin Risley. Prosecutors are considering whether to file charges in the first case. The second is still under investigation. Bibby has cooperated, authorities said. Bibby and the Kings won't comment. As for the autograph, it was not rude. It merely read, "MB10." ...

sounds like b.s. to me. someone trying to work over mike and his friends.
the whole thing started over this "nasty autograph" and it turned out to say mb10? go crawl back in your hole.

I can personally verify that "Team Dime" is nothing but a bunch of punks. Their seats are directly in front of mine at the games and I have had a few run ins with them. They are basically Bibby's cronies that do his bidding in exchange for fancy cell phones, clothes, jewelry, etc. because lord knows none of them have jobs. They are literally some of the dumbest people I have ever encountered. One time Vlade had 4 fouls in the early 4th quarter and Bibby had 2 and there was a foul called on the Kings that could have been on either of them and I said to the person sitting next to me "I hope it's on Bibby" and one of the Team Dime punks turned around and confronted me saying "hey, be careful what you say about Mike around us" in a threatening tone. I couldn't believe it.

If I ever hear about "team dime" again it will be too soon. I think that the media has really ran with it this whole offseason, they have driven it into the ground.

Well did you explain why you made the comment in order to clear the air? I would assume that if anyone was explained the situation they would feel bad and apologize. Maybe they misunderstood what you meant by it.

RE trashing the Kings ORG. What a surprise:rolleyes:

If this really did happen. They shouldve went to the cops in September. Now it looks like they are out to get Bibby and his crew.

If they really act like that, why would you ever waste your time explaining what you meant? People like that arent smart enough to feel bad or apologize about it. I'd rather spend the time punching the guy in his face.

People like what? Until I find out more about the specifics I'd assume that this guy may have misunderstood what was meant by the comment.

You would rather punch somebody in the face than make peace, that says a lot about you. You classify this guy into a category and you make a comment like that? Wow, like you have room to talk.

He was probably rude and should have just kept his mouth shut, but why would you just write somebody off as a bad person after something that little? Chances are he thought it was a derogatory remark about Bibby.

The punching in the face line was a joke. Im just saying that people who make initial comments like that arent misunderstanding anything. They are just trying to be tough guys.

I have 3 friends that I have been close to since . . . forever. One cries over everything. One falls in love with EVERY man she dates. The other drinks too much on Saturday nights.

I do none of the above.

I say that to say, how is this even important enough to be in the sport's section? If it was Bibby himself doing something violent or illegal, it would be more relavent, esp if there was a possibility of jail time that would affect the team. Until then, it is a waste of space that could be used for an article actually pertaining to King's basketball.

If you say so, then it must be true! :D

The only time I ever saw them was in Mineapolis walking down the street. Not enough to make any conclusions.

Maybe Mark Wahlberg should cast them to a guest appearance on HBO's Entourage :)

There are a number of stories floating around Sacramento that indicate sometimes Team Dime can be a bit of a problem. I myself have heard a number of them from friends I trust ... first-person stories, not second, third or fourth hand stuff. (At least a couple of them are in the same vein as what QueensFan has said, so I wouldn't necessarily be too quick to dismiss his narrative.)

That doesn't mean each story is true, but it unfortunately also doesn't mean each of them is false.

Where there's smoke, there's fire...

Bibby is a professional athlete. He is in a town that totally reveres their Sacramento Kings. IMHO if he wants this to stop, he needs to tell his "friends and family" to take it down a peg.

who honestly cares?
its a group of guys who think they are tough, big deal.
they hang out with mike bibby, big deal.
so they punched someone, big deal.
until bibby is involved, all this team dime print is worthless.

Who cares? If you were the parent of someone harassed by one of the members of Time Dime, you might care...

Big deal? Yeah, as a matter of fact it could be a very big deal because, while Mike hasn't actually been reported as doing any of the stuff, he has been reported as being there...and if he's not telling these bozos to cut it out, then he's just as guilty as they are IMHO.

I don't want to see too big a deal made of this, but it's just as bad to totally disregard it. Read Lawrence Funderburke's book, Hook Me Up, Playa, and I think you'll get a better of idea of what a LOT of professional athletes have to put up with from friends, family, acquaintances, etc. Parts of it sure opened my eyes...

I think alot of people are getting to involved in having to know everything that goes on in Bibby's life. He hasn't been convicted of any crimes or of doing drugs, he's been a great player for the team. Let's just leave it at that instead of worrying about some story from a reporter trying to make a name for himself. Let's fact it; Sacramento is a very small town. The rabid fans love the Kings, but some of them want to be too involved as if the players are part of their own personal family. They want to know everything that goes on in their lives and expect them to be model citizens at all times when in truth many of the fans have several imperfections themselves (but it doesn't get reported in the media).

In the words of CWebb: "I #@ work for y'all, I don't #@ live for y'all".

It ISN'T just a story from some reporter trying to make a name for himself. By saying that, you actually add MORE fuel to the flames.

It's no secret that Team Dime has overstepped their boundaries at various times. Now it's becoming public. Because of that, something needs to be done.

Acting as though none of this should be discussed is just as naive as acting as though every action was a major felony. Excessive emphasis on either side of the issue is silly.

It's not about the lives of the fans and it's exactly that kind of comment that makes it appear as though people in the Bibby camp are trying to shift focus and blame away from him.

SOME of his friends have made bad decisions and it's now reflecting on him.

There's an old saying: "Lay down with dogs and you'll get up with fleas."

There has been a lot of press about Bibby's entourage, right from the beginning when he first got here. If that was okay, then it's okay to point out the warts and wrinkles.

In the words of CWebb: "I #@ work for y'all, I don't #@ live for y'all".

That quote was from Webber after a game, when a reporter tried to ask him about his reported break-up with model Tyra Banks. TOTALLY different situation.

If Bibby is going to go out in public with Team Dime (and he does - all the time), their actions are fair game for reporting and discussion.

I know what the CWebb quote is from, I remember watching it live. The bottom line is that none of us know exactly what has happened in these situations. You can't always trust the media either, just because they report it, doesn't mean there's any truth to it. I think the whole situation is starting to get very overblown. BTW, shouldn't this topic by in more of a "Kings out of play" board or something like that?

well i guess you care than, personally, i don't. we'll just disagree then. the problem i have with this is the fact that it happened in september and now they decide to bring it up? seems a little too convenient. and no, its not a big deal until bibby actually is involved. until then, whatever. these "bozos" are adults, they don't have to listen to bibby. guilty by association? please. that doesn't fly in court.

This is really a joke, and The Sac-Bee is really becoming a rag. Why would they publish something so biased as this. The Sac-Bee is really an enemy of the kings organization. So much slander and negative bias all the time. Don't they realize that if the Kings leave someday that they had a big hand in it, when really they could have a big hand in the Kings staying.

My cousin happened to witness the whole thing that night. This writeup is completely full of lies. Of course it would be... It was from the accusers point of view (lying point of view). And NO, my cousin isn't part of team Dime. In fact, he is a laker fan, and really doesn't care too much for the kings. (Big surprise huh)

That whole group that these women were with were Severely Drunk. One of them did get an autograph from Bibby, and all the women there were all oogling over him loudly. My cousin thinks that that made a couple of the guys from that drunken stupor of a limo birthday party mad/jealous, because they started yelling and screaming angrily at Mike from inside the limo. Yelling a bunch of lies that he was a pervert and a sicko that he had written "CENSORED" on the napkin.

A guy and a girl that was with mike walked down to the limo and first were trying to explain what he had written. The Belligerent guys, and now women kept screaming and swearing. Mike's friend (the guy) told them to "listen to what I am saying" and opened the door of the limo to further get their attention further and explain what the writing meant (They didn't touch or grab anyone though).

Then this crazed drunk lady who says "There was no way I was going to let them pull out my daughter, so I threw myself across her," Actually frantically climbed across her daughter and out of the limo and started attacking them both. She was VEEEERY drunk apparently. and was a mess. Mike was yelling for all of them to knock it off. The guy pushed the Attacking Drunken Stupor lady off of him and she hit her head on the limo roof as she was falling back into it's seat (my cousin said that it didn't look like he pushed the lady off of him very hard at all, she was just REALLY DRUNK and had no balance).

By then the rest of Team Dime were headed over there to restrain the lady so some passengers pulled the rest of the wildly flinging "Drunken Stupor" lady back into the Limo and they shut it up and the limo pulled a small distance away..

This is really stupid and irresponsible of the Bee to present this story in this way, and for some of you who believes EVERYTING that they read/see/hear in the news. Wise up, it's heavily biased and net even true a large amount of the time. This Lady waited a month to even report this and is probably saying "I really did have a bump on my head the size of a grapefruit officer... I really did, Honest" and hoping to file a lawsuit for 4 million dollars against Mike somehow.

"Bibby watched the assault" That quote alone makes it sound like he just sat there and did nothing, or even that he approved of it in some way. That is not the case at all. He was yelling for them to stop, and headed over there (with the others) to try to break up the whole mess. His friend should had files charges against the women, not the other way around. Because he shrugged it off though and didn't, now it makes him look like the guilty party and her, the victim. Sad how the accused is always tarnished, even when falsely accused.

This writeup makes it sound like Team Dime goes around looking for trouble, and assaulting women. Another of my cousins with her 2 kids, spent several hours with Bibby and his friends after a kings event (Can't remember which one) and told me that they were all SUPER nice to them. Another of my cousins works at GOLDS GYM and says that they are always real nice and friendly to everyone.

People that ARE thugs are going to try and start stuff with team-dime now because of garbage like this being published. Why does the Bee always try to Villify the Kings in some way? Don't support that rag anymore if you can help it.

-------------------LOL---------------------
Oh BTW, did you hear that Mike Bibby's sisters aunt's adopted stepson, who mike sees sometimes at Christmas, got into a shoving match at school the other day. That Mike Bibby, Hanging out with those THUGS. (shaking head) :D

Goggles' cousin says one thing; a party to the event in the limo says another; the Bee says something else; etc.

I don't think Team Dime is the devil incarnate but I do not think they are totally angelic in all public dealings, either.

For the record, the Bee is reporting the allegations. That doesn't make them wrong, any more than it made ALL the media hype over the Kobe allegations wrong.

Bibby watched the assault and did not participate, the women told police.

It's pretty clear the Bee is reporting what was alleged in the police report.

i dont even understand why they would even mention mike since he has not been involved in these so called events..i guess they need to spice their stories up...but ya im not so sure how accurate some of these stories are.

Why would they mention Mike? Because he's there, even if he's not totally involved. If Mike wasn't there, it would just be a bunch of guys who happen to know an NBA player and that wouldn't hold any interest for anyone.

;)
