It was -- so I just added the direct link below it.

Problem comes when whoever originally posted the video checks "no embedding" when he uploads it. No way to tell as far as I know until you actually try to embed it.
Actually when i chose the video off the youtube page i did find a thing on the right side that says..."Embeding disabled by request". I had a feeling it wouldn't let me but i tried anyways. So ill look out for that next time.

Huh -- never notioced that before, but sure 'nuff...

So if anybody else is thinking of embedding a video, be sure to check the circled section to the right of the video to make sure it does not say "embedding disabled by request":

If it does, you might as well just post the link instead (unless you can find another video).

Ok fine... i changed the wording on my pick around to suit most of you.

Well I was not sure I recognized it or not, so I took a quick spin through wikipedia, and it turns out that song hit #1 on the Billboard charts -- only real hit they ever had. So I'm not sure you were actually reaching with your initial description even though it did not do much for me.

Now, now, Brick. Playing chess and reading Kingsfans.com at the same time? You must be bored..... ;)

Yep...besides, we need a little more dissension in this thread. Quite frankly, too many of us have very similar tastes in music. Y'all are doing a number on me...I could take many of your lists thus far and be completely content on my island.

Oh, just got the PM that it was my turn.

I'm going to pick up an Elvis classic here that I used to hear all the time when I was young - my mom loved listening to Elvis records. :)

Suspicious Minds - Elvis (1969)

[yt="Suspicious Minds"]eLOowAkrK04[/yt]

Possibly my favorite songs of his.

Nice...I don't have any room for Elvis, but this is my favorite song of his as well. Good pick.

For the record, if anyone posts a youtube video without noticing that embedding is diabled, you can just click on the title in the youtube window (the "Suspicious Minds" on Warhawk's embedded clip, for example). It functions as a direct link.

See, I learned something new today.

Can I go home now? ;)

Relax- Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Bang!: The Greatest Hits Of Frankie Goes To Hollywood

sure enough there's a banned video too..
You do realize why there is a banned video? You do realize what that song is about? Listen to the lyrics. I could not even believe that they got away with making that song a hit. And kids were wearing the shirts with the word RELAX and they had no idea what it was referring to. Those guys are really hardcore, and I am not referring to their music.

yeah, and kids today are wearing the shirts again..wonder if they would after seeing that vid.

It turns out, even though I grew up knowing this song and like it quite a bit now, this isn't one of the most well-known classic songs. Let me know if any of you have it on your list...I'm probably reaching here.

Night Moves - Bob Seger - Night Moves

A very simple song, which is why I like it so much. I remember having very weird visions in my mind pop up when I would listen to this song as a little kid before I could understand the lyrics. Classic, great tune.

No, not on my lists, at least not anymore -- but I used to play that song/album a LOT my junior year of college.

Nope...

Well, I've been burned lately, so I hope my next couple of picks sting a bit.

Next pick:

Fast Car - Tracy Chapman - Tracy Chapman

[yt=Tracy Chapman - Fast Car]dl6yilkU1LI[/yt]

I had to have this song, so I moved it up a bit. I just couldn't take a chance with this one. Wish I could have had the album in the album thread, but I'll be plenty happy with this. A great song about a pretty depressing subject: generational poverty. Tracy Chapman is an incredible performer and songwriter...she is able to really make you feel the pain behind her music. Came back with happier stuff later in her career, but none of it had the power of her first album.

Ah damn! A direct hit to my list in return! :p

Actually, I almost consider that a minor kindness at this point -- I had that song paired with another to save space -- when one got taken, I would switch off to the other. So now, just so long as nobody gets any bright ideas about the other one...

Pick #9, finally getting defensive about some favorite picks. So far I haven't picked one female vocalist song yet...and the pattern continues. With pick #9, I select Tears in Heaven (Eric Clapton) Unplugged 1993.

Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven

Great song about a terrible subject. It must be unbearable to lose your child...

"Tears in Heaven" is a ballad written by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings about the pain Clapton felt following the 1991 death of his four-year-old son, Conor, who fell from a 53rd-story window in his mother's friend's New York City condominium. By all accounts, the death was simply a tragic accident, and Clapton was distraught for months afterwards.[1] This song is one of Clapton's most successful, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the U.S. The song also spent three weeks at #1 on the American adult contemporary chart in 1992.

If I had to live the rest of my life alone on a tropical island, I know that I would miss my wife and son just as much:(.

I'm on the case ;)

ipod apparently wants some guitar on my list right now....

Tuff Enuff-Fabulous Thunderbirds - Tuff Enuff

Spin off from my fandom of Stevie Ray Vaughn, I became a fan of this band, and this is one of my very favorititest of their songs.
