I have no problem at all with pointing out things we need to do better from tonights game such as Thornton/Tyreke needing to be more efficient over the course of the game rather than just the 4th quarter. What doesn't make sense though, is finding stuff to nitpick about the team when wins like this don't come around very often for us as Kings fans to enjoy

You aren't going to win an argument with him for one simple reason: He truly enjoys playing the devil's advocate and seeing how many threads he can hijack or derail. I, too, fall victim to the temptation but, much like in "War Games," the "only way to win is not to play."

I freaking love Mr. Thornton so much! One of my favorite Kings in a long time. I can't stand how so many people dislike him and call him a black hole.
Sure he isn't a pass-first kinda guy, but it's not like he NEVER passes. Fact is, he's very productive and important to this team.
I was watching OKC vs DAL last night and noticed how guys like Westbrook play. He doesn't pass all that much either, he's in attack mode all game long on a mission to score. And OKC makes it work, and win many games. I don't care how little Salmons and Thornton pass the ball around, cuz this team just isn't fully functional on offense yet. And when they will be, Marcus will appear less selfish and etc

"refusal to acknowledge anything positive" would imply that I'm purposefully ignoring the positive for the sake of being negative. That's not something I do. I simply report how I feel. If I feel positive regarding something, i report that. but I do not manufacture positives just for the sake of being positive.

My goal isn't at all to hijack or derail anything. Certain folks just seem annoyed/angered by just about everything I post and feel the need to confront me constantly. When that happens, I reciprocate. It's interesting to me that it seems the expectation is that I should change/adapt myself so as to not upset others rather than that they should work on not being so easily upset.
The opening jump ball means basically nothing.

of course they do. they're a relatively unathletic team in a rather athletic league. the kings should be making their name on strength, rebounding, and points in the paint. with additional moves, they could be a truly excellent power team. but when your two cornerstone pieces are tyreke evans, a bulldog, and demarcus cousins, a freight train, you're never going to be the leaping types...

A structured, halfcourt offense is going to take some time and practice to get going. Another reason Westphal and his "freelance" bs was a terrible coach for this team.
Totally agree though, if Reke and Cousins can start developing pick and roll chemistry we'll be seeing a lot more Ws.

you posited that the kings "seem to lose the vast majority of jump balls," as if you didn't understand the reason for it. they're an unathletic team. this is the result of the decisions they've made in the last three drafts. what do YOU suggest they do about it? draft x player in the offseason? trade for y player before the deadline? sign z player off waivers? start one of their own over another? an unathletic team isn't going to win a lot of jump balls. they're also not going to dunk the ball a lot. but what the kings are at their core is a strong team. what they don't get in jump balls and dunks they make up for in rebounds and power plays in the paint. you present a weakness, and i countered with a complementary strength. you are aware of the fact that every single team in the nba is chock full of strengths and weaknesses, correct, that not every team is a perfectly well-oiled machine? i disagree with you on... well, just about everything. but sometimes you at least attempt to funnel your discontent into a worthwhile point of discussion. now you're claiming your right to be pissed off. which is fine, but it strikes me as entirely useless and the stuff of complainers. feel free to nitpick, but you'll never be satisfied with anything this team is able to accomplish if, for every thing they do well, you actively seek out the most minor of nits to pick...

Any of the above. Whatever it takes to get someone on this team who can elevate And not just for jump balls, either. It would come in real handy around the rim too.
It’s not as if you have to be one or the other. You can be a strong team but still have an athletic guy or two on the roster.
No kidding. I never said any team was flawless. It’s all relative. I’ll be happy when the positives outnumber the negatives. That’s all I ask. If that’s nitpicking or having too lofty a goal to some, then so be it.

see, here's where you lose me, and where i gracefully bow out of any further discussion with you. you're not much of a solutions guy. you just like to complain, and its a terrible bore. any of the above? what does that mean? what kind of contribution is that? what, specifically, would you do to solve these very minor problems that you take such tremendous issue with, without creating a host of others? the kings already have an athletic guy or two on the roster. hickson is very athletic, as is donte greene. but they're not very high usage players, so their athleticism isn't that germane to the discussion. the kings have bet on tyreke evans and demarcus cousins, two relatively unathletic players who also happen to be the most talented and most high usage guys on the roster. each has the potential to become franchise cornerstones, and they together have the potential to outmuscle the entire league. i wouldn't trade that for athleticism unless it came in the form of a freakish lebron james type. would YOU trade evans and cousins just to become a more athletic team? i get the impression it wouldn't bother you a bit if they shipped evans outta town. i'm just glad you're not runnin' the show. anyway, i find you a bit boorish, and not terribly insightful, as far as members of kingsfans.com goes. you read rather like a troll masquerading as someone who seeks worthwhile discussion. i know you don't give two ****s about what i think, though, so let's just call this the end of our interaction...
Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. I was going to post something similar, but I've been there before with these types and each time I got into it was a waste of my valuable time. And therefore I'll employ the scroll on by method as well.

It means that any of those solutions would suffice. Pretty simple, really. Sorry if that wasn’t the answer you wanted.
If you were after specifics, you should have said so to begin with rather than merely offering solutions for me to choose from.
Specifically, I’d say the problem is the other starting big man. I’m not sold on Hayes or JT as permanent starters to play next to Cousins. Take care of that and you’ll solve a lot of problems in addition to wining more jump balls.
It’s not nessecary to trade either one just to do that.
I get the impression you don’t pay very close attention to what I actually say, then. I’ve suggest trading him but only to get a very good player back in return. I’ve never said anything that would suggest I just want him shipped out.
I find you a bit condescending and often overly verbose without really saying much, so the feeling is mutual.
I manage to have plenty of worthwhile discussions with other folks. It just seems to be that I clash with you and some others here. You seem to only be interested in picking apart or criticizing just about anything I say and that’s not a very good foundation for a fruitful or friendly discussion.

It's kind of amusing/annoying every thread I enter has a long-winded debate involving the same person(s). 
I go to escape it and it just follows me.

I didn't quite understand why everyone was so against me - was I not just posting about the flaws and strengths that Brick would later post in the grades thread anyway? Upon further reflection though, I realised that it was not so much what I was saying that people didn't like, but the timing that I was saying it at.
The board here is a pretty good community. Just like in any community or society, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions. However, well-mannered members know that there is a time and place for everything. You don't stand up in the middle of a high-society dinner and start a heated argument for the world to hear. It is one thing to have our opinions and our views, but another to be sensitive to the feelings of others. That being said, I can see why my post after the Spurs game was taken the wrong way. It certainly wasn't my intention to rain on the parade, but the timing of it all just made it seem like I wasn't happy about how our team played.
The bottom line is, we're all entitled to our own opinion. But to be a well-liked, respected member of any community one needs to be aware of how his actions may affect others, even on the internet. If you don't give a **** about respecting others in that sense then don't question why people seem to hate you.
