Trade to help the Kings

KKSloga

G-League
If I were the Kings I would seriously try to pull off the following trade even though it would be difficult to see the Clippers doing this.

Sacramento Trades:
Mike Bibby
Kenny Thomas

Sacramento Recieves:
Marko Jaric
Elton Brand

This trade would solve our PF question and add defense at the point. It would also allow the kings to start Bobby Jackson @ the 2 gaurd but he would not have to gaurd the other 2 gaurds because Marko would take care of it. The Kings would then be a bench player or two away from being a contender again in the West.

PG: Marko Jaric
SG: Bobby Jackson
SF: Pedja Stojakovic
PF: Elton Brand
C: Brad Miller

Current Bench: House, Garcia, Evans, Ostertag, Skinner.

^^^ basically and what happened to martin? more importantly, i dont want our point guard to be taller than our power forward....

how about garcia and filler for jaric..... that would be nice....

the kings are never goign to trade bibby and you cant actually want that to take place

Anything to make the team better. Jaric and Brand will pretty much match the offensive output of Bibby and Thomas but are alot better defensively.

Trouble is I don't think the Clippers need another starting PG, don't they have Livingston for that. They also drafted a PG expecting to lose Jaric (at least that is what the "experts" were saying).

That would make it a Thomas for Brand trade and I don't think even the Clippers are that stupid.

Otherwise, go for it.

Are you serious?? Kings will never trade Bibby! He's there franchise player. Marko Jaric isint good.
Bibby. A Franchise player? Are you joking?

Yes I agree with you, Marko Jaric is horrible [/sarcasm]

As of now, Jaric isn't theirs to trade.

The Clippers have a young stud in Livingston and are going to give him every opportunity to be a star. They would have zero interest in trading for Bibby.

What I saw from Livingston made me think that he's the real deal. Fantastic size and length, and an amazing feel for the game for such a young kid. If he can stay healthy, he'll open some eyes and lead off some Sportcenters.

why in gods name would we trade bibby? and to be honest, its a stupider trade for the clippers. even though it might help us in some way, i just dont wanna see bibby gone so soon.

they were never going to trade Webber either and yet he is gone

Bibby is not a franchise player. Kings don't really have one at the moment

This trade would make us better if and only if Jaric, Brand and Bobby couls stay healthy. Since we are the Kings - fat chance

r u serious? did u not know that webber was injured and getting old?

its not that they were never going to trade webber... its just that everyone thought that they couldnt trade webber.... until now.... too bad we couldnt have traded him to the knicks for k. thomas and nazir.... cause this undersized ****t gets on my nerves....

I'd trade Bibby, Miller and Peja for one real star.

It's much easier to rebuild around one great player than three good players, especially when they each have defensive/toughness problems.

^^ nah. i see what ur trying to say, but u gotta at least keep bibby.

And that's the bottom line. Watching Petrie work is kind of like how I went from a '53 Plymouth to a 944 Porsche...working my way up, trading equity until I could have what I wanted. Since he's been here he's consistantly traded lesser value for more and turned our team around doing it. Our nucleus of Bibby, Brad and Peja are all good players, borderline all stars from year to year but not players you build a team around. And yes, I know we play "team" ball but you still need a superstar to go against other teams with superstars to blunt or offset their impact. If not we'll never get to the finals.

You'd think the members here would have learned by now not to argue with European fans about the quality of European players. Its a worthless cause. Jaric is not near the caliber of point guard that Bibby is. Brand is a definite upgrade over Thomas but if we did make that trade we'd be exchanging one hole in our starting lineup for another. I just don't see why either team makes this trade. The Clippers aren't going to trade their best player for Bibby and Thomas. Also, I think we are seriously over the salary mark for this trade anyway. Without checking I'd guess around a 3mill difference, which doesnt fly under the CBA.

We have to remember here that Bibby carried the load of the team when injuries were everywhere, Webber and DC got traded, and Peja didn't show up. Towards the end he got injured and couldn't be the same, hench why he didn't produce at his level when it really mattered. Bibby is great when someone else carries the load. Im hoping Peja can get his act together or get shipped for someone who can.

Now why in the wolrld would we want to trade Bibby or Peja?!

To improve the team.

How else is this Kings team going to get better? It isn't like they have any other real trade assets.
