Trade proposal for KG, and why

Minny will look to dump Hudson and/or Jaric's contract if they move KG.

From what I have seen of Jaric this year, having a 6'7" backup PG might not be a bad thing at all. He's in shape, been playing some D, can hit the outside shot, and so I say throw him in. Combine him with Salmons and Garcia for THREE 6'7" multipositional multitalented roleplayer types behind the Big 3. Works better yet.

Yes, but one would then have Gasol, who is barely an All-Star, as opposed to KG, who is a HOFer.

If Gasol's out there at the deadline I sincerely hope we are in pursuit, but attempts to equate the two players are considerably off.

My KG ship is sailing away as each day passes. If he's still in MInny by the day after the deadline, I'm officially done of secretly longing for him in a Kings uniform.

In Fact I think I'd prefer Pau Gasol. He's only what, 26 years old. Same age as Ron. If you could BY CHANCE keep Martin AND add Gasol, that's FAR superior to having just KG alone...I'd be willing to package both Bibby and Miller to get Gasol at this point...then you have the ability to have the 2-5 positions solidified for the next 5 years. We add a PG in free agency/draft and that team will be competing for TITLES barring injuries(another need for a new arena...erase the curse of the dreaded ancient indian burial ground that Arco is built on).

Bibby/Miller for Gasol/Stoudamire is a dream trade of mine. I just wonder if Memphis would bite in order to sell tickets.

Also I look at the KG deals as becoming very similar to the Shaq deal a couple years ago...is Miami better off by having gotten shaq? They got their one title, but I think they're done. Now it's the D-Wade show.

I think a team of D-Wade, Lamar Odom and Caron Butler would have allowed Miami to compete at the top of the East for years to come. I dunno if the Kings would be wise to deal Martin/Artest at this point. I think we should start looking to deal Bibby/Miller while they still have value.

I wouldn't mind Gasol, I've mentioned it in the past. But the only reason Gasol would be on the block is if Memphis' new owners want to trim salary down until they can figure out what they want to do. I wanted to send Reef, enders, and maybe a pick, which means they’ll be playing for Oden.

Memphis' new owners aren't just businessmen, they also have basketball backgrounds. So unless Memphis is willing to dump Gasol for enders it might very well take Kevin Martin to get him.

Yeah I like the size. I'd also like Hudson after seeing his game against us this year already. As long as a 6' 7" guy can move and shoot and distribute, then way not have him be a combo guard? You can really create some mismatches with pure size and moves. I love what I see in young Shawn Livingston, plus he's from Illinois. Isn't IL producing some good young talent (KG, Daron Williams, Livingston, Miles etc)? :D

I was really hoping to see what Monia brought with his 6' 8" size and supposedly good shooting. Too bad he went back to his homeland. :p It really is a bummer too that Skinner only yielded Potato in the end, I really liked that guy.

Great point, I like many people, are putting too much into dreams about trying to get KG, when a Gasol, or some other young guy can be had easier and the team will actually consider the trade. Also you don't totally dismantle your team to get that one guy and then have nothing left to play around him.

I also much rather get a talented big man and let go of a near 6 foot PG, they truely are a dime a dozen, you don't find too many 6' 10"+ guys with great talent and have to get them when they come around. Also like has been said, with Bibby contract nearing and end and what he makes, it will be nearly impossible to trade him. Look at what happened to Indy with the Peja trade, they lost Artest, but also Peja too in the end. While the salary came off the books, it was low enough that the talent lost stung much worse.

I'd love a Anderson V. from the Cavs, Boozer type at PF which brings lots of enthusiam, size, skill, and is here in the long term. I'd also be able to take the loss in Bibby offense to the better defense and dist of a true PG, not a small SG that plays PG. I'm not trying to come down on Bibby, I love the guy, but with the $ he makes and his huge defensive liability and since we are a Defensive team, not the Princeton Offensive one of year ago....and since our 4/5 is weak...teams exploit this free lane to the hoop with little to any challenge. PGs this year like Chucky Atkins and Baron Davis were having career nights against us this year as well as gotten owed by the big premier PF of the league, while some of this is inevitable when we are taking about Duncan, KG, Brand, etc...this still needs to be addressed.
