I think Petrie should send Kevin Martin and Kenny thomas in a trade for a decent backup center. That way we can resign MO,and resign Darius. In my option Darius is way better than Kenny Thomas. Kenny is undersized, can not pass worth a lick, and is VERY streaky. Kevin Martin has alot going for him, but he is not the player for this team. Yes Kevin has gain some weight, and has worked hard on his game this summer. But in summer league he averaged 6 turnovers a game! Im not to sure how that would tranlate to the next season, but I could see him getting benched really quick by adelman if he averages anywhere 6 turnovers a game.

write on this thread and tell me what you guys think of possible trades for them....

I agree with sono, with exception that Kenny is expensive. I would chill out on Mo. I think hes going to be a good bench player for them, but I doubt hell be a star in the league. 1 down, 1 left. Wonder what Petrie will do...if anything...

i think we should kevin a chance and some decent playing time before we trade him.... that could turn out to be a huge mistake

I agree, I think he's going to be very good in time.

I really really dont think we will lose anything if we got rid of Kevin..Mo is a way better defender,3-point shooter, and hustles 24/7. Mark my words, not picking up MO will be a huge mistake...watch next season if we dont keep him...He will light K-martin up when we play the Pistons.....Just watch....

I think garcia is way better than kevin martin will ever be....with our shoting guard at wells,MO,and garcia.I think our shooting guard position would be set like that...To bad from the way everything is looking I dont think it will :-(

Garcia has played 0 NBA games
Kevin Martin has played alot!

how can u say ones better than the other without ever seeing Garcia play in the NBA?

I don't know, I think the potential Kevin has is too great.

I have seen Garcia play in college and I watched some of the Kings summer league games...Has ALOT of potiental....Alot of great no look passes, very quick, and has a sweet shot, averaged 1 inhalf steals and blocks in summer league. Thats why I think he is better than K-Martin. Garica and Martin will be battling for mins next season and I think garica will get those mins...Just watch

Kevin's potential is a ?? But the real issue is these simple facts: 1) neither Kevin nor Cisco is going to reach any sort of potential or make any huge impact on the league with a major OG like Bonzi ahead of them; 2) Kevin and Cisco cannot BOTH blossom and become major players for us as they play the same position. Best case scenario, one blossoms into the starter, and the other (most likely Cisco given his versatility) becomes a good bencher. But obviously that is both speculative and only possible if Bonzi is gone.

Given those facts, you can go a number of ways, but its not as simple as just saying "Kevin has too much potential". His potential, aside from being unsure, is irrelevant to us if he is never going to get to display it with us.

BTW Kevin only played in 45 games last season and averaged 2.9ppg,1.3rpg in 10 mins per game. He shot 38% FG and shot 20% 3-point...GO K-MARTIN! LOLOLOL

sonny, the nba is alot different than college....... not everyone can be a Lebron James....

Garcia's game is made for the nba the only thing he has to do is get stronger then he will be just fine. Garcia plays with alot of emotion and that what I like about him and well on other hand Kevin Martin just plays like hes going through the motions.

From the moments I have seen Kevin play I think its safe to say, at least IMO, he has potential. Mo's spot is now open, Kevin or Cisco will get those minutes, so I think one of the two will get an opprotunity this season to showcase those skills.

Also, I have gone back and looked at some tape, I like Kevin Martins game.

Skinner at backup PF/C will be fine.

Also shouldn't trade KMart for anyone until he gets a chance to prove himself.

What concievable backup center would get time over Skinner? I don't know too many. To say, "Go out and trade this and that for a backup C" doesn't mean much to me. When we have a backup C that is more talented than most others out there right now.

And then to say that Kenny "can't pass worth a lick". Hmm...I must have been watching a different Kenny Thomas then this guy b/c I thought both Brian and Kenny fit in the offense very well.

We have a 6'9" PF who we annointed a C for lack of options. Not counting Sampson, who may or may not even be on the active roster, as it stands right now we have exactly one player on the roster taller than 6'9". That's not good.

Thicker shoes? Stilts? or Calvin Booth?

Booth? I don't think so, there are plenty better than him avaibable/who can be had.

http://www.nba.com/playerfile/calvin_booth/index.html

Only has had one solid season.

Skinner will either split time at PF/C or be mostly at PF. We'll have a true or solid/good center backing up Brad.

Francisco Elson, PJ Brown (age isn't much of a factor), Mark Blount, Rasho, Zendon Hamilton. Maybe Kelvin Cato in the right trade (not saying this one, just in general).

All of them could be had.

I certainly agree that the Kings can use more size, but it has to be someone who can actually contribute. There aren't many backup centers that can be had for a backup power forward and an unproven backup 2-3. Skinner has been a starting center in this league with Milwaukee. I'm not saying he's great or the answer, just that there are worse options out there.

peja is 6'10 ;)

Same with Rasho...He really sucks bad...Why do you think the spurs traded malik rose for Nazr Mohammed mid season???? The reason is whenever Rasho was in the game the spurs would lovse the lead...Rasho is a lead foot center who needs to stay with the spurs nd eat his 30 million contract.

He isn't high on my list either (Booth isn't), but I just listed him because of all the talk on him around. I'd put a few guys ahead of him.

Really? Would he see time in front of Skinner?

I wouldn't think so.
In case of injury. Brad has a history of them. 6'9" Skinner and Sampson (if he makes the team) and ......?

Unless it is with a trade, slim pickings for players willing to accept minimum. Not even sure the Kings could get at that.

Francisco Elson is cheap (salary for this year is 719,000), as would Zendon Hamilton (free-agent). Neither are bad or medicore players, and bring what we need.

We could get PJ Brown or Blount in a trade as well.
