Trade Ideas including Beno

Seeing how Beno and Westphal are squabbaling and Beno seems to be on "cruise control" like last season, I think it is high time the Kings move him out. That was what most of us figured would happen when they drafted Tyreke and traded for Sergio... his trade value is still pretty good, so let's roll him out! Here are a couple ideas... some tied to larger ideas.

Philly (they are trying to move big contracts of Dalembert and Iggy)
Martin + K9 + Beno for Iggy and Dalembert
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5434218

Beno + K9 for Dalembert
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5434246

Norleans (they could use more expiring salary and with C3PO out, could use a PG)

Beno + K9 for Okafor + expiring scrubs
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5434250

Noc + K9 + Beno for Okafor and Peja (expires next offseason)
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5434259

Boston (They need to win NOW!)
Noc + Beno for Expiring scrubs

I don't think we can do the deal to bring back Iggy. He's a 2-3, we give up Noc and Martin and bring back a 2-3. Also Iggy is 6' 6" average 17, 6 , 5. Sound like someone we know?? We'd be putting a very similar player to Tyreke with Tyreke in the back court. Not sure if that would work.

I am absolutely against bringing Peja back. First he's a 3, and he has those back problems. They don't get better, they only get worse.

I'm ok with beno and K9 fro Dalembert. But we have to have a plan for the offseason. Sergio is an expiring I believe, and we either need to re-sign him, or know we can grab someobody in free agency.

I'm still not sold on Okafor being what we need

Bringnig back all expirings wouldn't be a bad thing either, although u just traded an expiring, for an expiring just to get rid of Beno. If that's the best to be had, it would be better than brining back longer term contracts for people who we don't necessarily want, or need.

I like most of these ideas, actually. I like the one with Beno and K9 for Okafor and expirings...not sure how Martin would still fit into our equations after a trade like that. I kind of like the Iggy trade involving Martin, but I think I'd rather dangle Martin to Chicago for Deng and his 18pts/8rebs a game, and tougher attitude that would fit nicely here. The bottom line is we need to get tougher, and I think Okafor would bring that...not a huge fan of Dalembert though, although with the current state of our team and toughness, I'd probably be open to a package involving the ever-declining Martin for Samuel. Should be interesting how the next 2 weeks pan out before the deadline...I have a feeling nothing earth shattering will happen, but we're in 'wait and see' mode right now.

Iggy is a considerably better player than Deng, and his abiility to distribute as a SG could be key next to Reke.

We also have the SF position really taken care of going forward with Caspi and Greene (cheap too for yeaars to come). We just have to get everyboy out of their way, not throw up new roadblocks.

Yeah, I like Iggy. He's a very good passer and ball handler. He's also a good defender and rebounder for his position. He's an unselfish player, and I think he would be a very good fit next to Tyreke. And like you said, were just fine at the SF position.

I am good with iggy and dalembert. That takes care of many things. Iggy gives us a 2 to replace Martin with. Dalembert gives us a defensive big. Green and Casspi take care of the backup SG and SF roles as 1 will start. Cisco is the backup 1,2,3 guy. I like

Evans/Sergio/Garcia
Iggy/Garcia/Greene/Casspi
Casspi/Greene/Garcia
Thompson/Greene/Brockman
Hawes/Dalembert/Brockman

rest is fodder Armstrong/May/Udoka

I'd definitely be in favor of the Iggy trade...hell, I'm pretty much in favor of ANY trade that gets Martin out of here, at this point!

im glad ur not our gm. its that kind of thinking that sets a team back. we cant let martin go for trash. if we cant get equal value for him or at least a serviceable big man, wait til the offseason. its not like we're going anywhere now. trade him for a key piece to our future or wait.

I sincerely doubt Beno has positive trade value. He has one of the worst contracts in the league right now. What is shocking to me is next year Beno will be paid 1 Million more than Bibby and his contract has an extra year. How did that happen?

Secondly, I think the Armstrong trade demonstrated we will not be adding any salary this season or probably even next season. So I don't think K9 will be doing anything but going quietly into the night.

So we would have to find a team with an inferior player, but paid less who needs a backup PG. I don't think we could even do Gadzuric or Ryan Goms at this point. Options are limited:

CHA
Beno->Diop (Save $1 million over 3 years)

Dallas
Beno->Carroll+Ross (Saves $10 Million over 3 years) Probably our best option.

LAL
Beno->L. Walton (Saves $ 4.5 Million over 3 years) and makes me sick just thinking about it.

I think my eyes started to bleed a little when I read that.

I dont want to trade Martin for NOTHING...but if Philly called with the above trade, I'd do it...it would clear the way for alot of other things too...that's all I was insinuating. Petrie wouldnt take junk for him(hopefully), and whatever we get in return would be of value in our building a younger, stronger overall team.

Seeing how Beno and Westphal are squabbaling

Where is this? One article and they are now suddenly feuding? Nothing has shown there is a rift between the two.

and Beno seems to be on "cruise control" like last season,

This has been the best and most consistent season of Beno's career. Before Martin returned, he was the second best player on the team behind Evans and arguably the most consistent player out of everybody all season long.

LMAO is that why Sergio barely sees the court? Is that why he was traded for as a filler in the last year of his deal?

The only downside with Iggy and Reke pairing is that neither of them is a good shooter from deep. If Iggy had a better shot he would be absolutely perfect complement to Reke.

Deng just makes absolutely no sense for us.

Beno To New Jersey for Courtney Lee + Trenton Hassell
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5438846

Lee has some combo guard skills to go with Tyreke and Hassell's contract is expiring.

Why Kings do it: Lee might work better with Reke than Martin while offering Martin's outside shooting.

Why Nets do it: Legit backup for Devin, their struggling star.

Why Nets don't: They think they are in the FA sweepstakes and don't want to take on the contract.

Why Kings don't: No confidence in Lee? May Prefer CDR in Lee's place.

Knicks wanted to have Beno+Noc+K9 for Nate and Jeffries but Kings refused!
I can understand that...for starters the salaries don't even come close to matching. The only way this trade works financially is if the Knicks also include Eddy Curry:
http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5439108

But why on earth would the Kings do this deal?
Beno + K9 (Huge expiring) + Noc for one year of Curry and Jeffries and Nate (a much less huge expiring)

Yeah very probable there was another player from the Knicks in this trade, but I forgot it...
