trade idea with hornets...

Showtime

Starter
I know Hawes is a really good prospect, but with the development of JT, would kings fans be willing to part with him for a proven post defender and rebounder?

Kings send:

Brad Miller, Hawes

Hornets send:

Tyson Chandler, Julian Wright

Projected lineups:

Beno
Martin
Salmons
Thompson
Chandler

Kings get the defense, rebounding, and shot blocking, and that combo with JT looks like a great hustle frontline.

Paul
Butler
Peja
West
Hawes

Thoughts?

I wonder if Salmons would get us Wright?

John for Julian + filler.

I'd be down with that.

Do not trade Hawes.

Because his 11 minutes against the Bucks is irreplaceable? I love Hawes, but I don't think it makes a difference if the coaches don't put him on the floor, especially at the correct position at center. If Brad Miller isn't moved by the deadline, who's to say the rotations will change? We may be seeing this for quite a while.

Rather not trade Hawes. I like Chandler but I think he is one of those guys that is a little bit overrated do to the fact that he is on a good team. He might be one of those "last piece" kind of guys, but that's only IF he is what you need.

Ya that makes sense. Trade a 20 year old 2nd year player cause he's not getting time behind an aging vet.

No. That's not the motivation for trading him. Be smarter than that. Getting a proven post defender and rebounder to play alongside JT and dumping Miller in the process would be the motivation of including him. It has nothing to do with "we need to dump Hawes".

What I'm saying is that why is he unmovable if he can play, but he isn't even being put on the court that much? As I said, I want to keep him and if it were up to me, he'd be on the court 30+ minutes a game, but what difference does that make if he's not on the court? If Miller isn't moved, we might be seeing Brad taking his minutes for another YEAR, and by that time he may not want to stick around anyway. IMO they are hurting their chances of keeping him by not committing to him right now.

Kenny Natt and this coaching staff is not going to be here much longer. Don't trade away a future star because the INTERIM coach is giving him 11 min...

I'm not adverse to trading Hawes, but not for Chandler. Chandler can help, but we're not in a position to take advantage of him. A veteran who can be a leader would be good, but Chandler isn't that guy.

Trading Hawes would be stupid right now....He's averaging like 9 ppg and 6 rpg with limited minutes behind Miller and he's only 20. If he is still a 9 and 6 guy when he's at the ripe ol' age of 23 then we might want to consider it but as of now we need to wait a few years to gauge his imrpovement...and he will improve.

I like Chandler for his defense, athleticism and length that I've always wanted for this team, but at the same time we're trading away Brad Miller and! Hawes--getting two of our offense-oriented centers away. There's no doubt Miller can go in that deal, but not the both of them; Petrie loves his offensive players too much, and Hawes--a carbon copy of Miller in many respects--can be developed to thrive in our system. Chandler's offense is horrible besides dunking or shooting anywhere in a 5 foot radius of the basket, and can perhaps be bloated by Chris Paul's lobthrowing to him.

I like Wright--but we have to get rid of Salmons first. Think we can be a great athletic defensive foil for us, but I thought the Hornets were grooming him--but it seems like they really have little use for him with Posey getting the minutes and being around the next 3 years for them.
