Trade Evans?

Evans just needs the ball too much in this offense. The Kings are winning with team ball movement. They just beat a top team in denver, and would probably have beaten the Lakers and Cavs if it weren't for Evans trying to do everything himself. So, what can we get for him? /sarcasm

though this is obviously a joke, chris paul would be awesome. :D

white text FTW. Just a response to the "DUMP MARTIN" crowd.

I recognize how somebody might be causious about how Martin (or if) he can adjust to the team concept, but let's at least give the guy a shot before buying his ticket out of town.

Really?

Really? This is funny! Everyone laugh. This kid has the chance to be one of the best players in the league in a few years, why would you give him up? Your suggestion makes absolutely no sense.

I agree that we need to see how Evans and Martin play together before deciding to dump KMart based on 5 early season games.

you guys didnt notice the word sarcasm in his post? it was white. though he obviously wasnt serious about it.

I think we take it one step further and trade Martin and Evans for Eric Maynor. We're one PG away from the championship and this would put us over the top. Without Martin's contract and with K9 expiring, we can use the money in FA to sign Bosh to make us ubergood. I don't think OKC would go for this deal though, they know our guards are garbage ballhogs.

;)

Unfortunately, sarcasm is one of the most difficult things to detect on a message board.

You'd have to know the backstory to understand what Showtime was doing.

:p

Do you know how you can tell if someone if really good at something? They can see things coming ahead of time and don't have to pedantically have it proven to them as they evaluate time and again. That's for mediocrities. A chessmaster is not the guy who realizes his rook is threatened when its taken, its the guy who recognizes that its going to be threatened 5 moves ahead. In the stock market the guru is not the guy who sells after his stocks already start tumbling, its the guy who anticipates the tumble (sometimes with a little inside help) and gets out while the value is high. On the basketball court its the player that can act rather than react. And off it it is the front office which can anticipate a problem rather than waiting for it to disrupt the team, kill trade values, and redivide a fanbase at a critical juncture.

As an aside, back in the day we used to close threads like these because they made our board look asinine and some dip on another board would inevitably start up a thread that hey, "I was just over at KF and those idiots have a Trade Evans thread! What a bunch of morons!"

There's a difference between seeing ahead, and making rash, reactionary decisions.

1. Anybody who posts that on another forum wasn't smart enough to pay attention to the thread.

2. Why are you so concerned with what another forum thinks of the threads here? I didn't know Al Davis was running KF.

Well I was just really hoping he wasn't serious, otherwise I would question his intelligence. :p haha.

I agree with the OP on this one...

We could probably package Evans with KT and get some cap relief.. This could come in handy next summer when we are looking to sign that big FA..

Ok joking... We aren't trading Evans..

seriously if we traded evans im pretty sure gavin would stab geoff's writing hand with the pen he will use to sign that 3 year extension...

while were at it why not bring back natt as an interim head coach

yes we beat the nuggets with out reke but they also didnt have chauncey.. and we won this on pure grit and toughness.. but to say we dont need evans to win or to use him to get another "piece" is just crazy

i mean you dont trade diamonds for rubios errr rubies... if we are going to trade some one it would be those that have value but wont hurt the rebuild... garcia, or martin... noc and beno? well thats my take on it. trading him would just make us all look like fools haha

btw, the question about trades should be whether you need a player but whether you can get a player that can help the team more... Just a general thought...
