Trade: Christie for Mobley (MERGED)

I guess this was a good trade........somehow, I think we got a liittttlllleeeee better in the salary cap. Also I think Doug wants to retire this year, but that is just what I heard.
 
It's ok VF...just look at it like Jim Koz does: you now have a throwback jersey in your closet. :)

But seriously...I'm not so sure about this move right now. I find myself unable to think rationally at the moment. Help!

I hope someone is around who can do as good a job as Reina always does in transcribing what's been said on KHTK. I am NOT a happy camper about this.

Pedja is going to miss Doug, too, considering he could count on at least 4 passes a night that almost always resulted in baskets.

Me too, I will miss the Christie to Peja every game. Petrie will join in a couple of minutes on 1140. Grant and Mike said they are SHOCKED.
 
I don't know about this one, seems like trading D for O is the last thing you guys should be doing...

And why for Orlando? Christie's getting old, why give up Mobley for him?
 
I am extremely sad now.
I just got his second jersey when I saw the game on Jan 2nd.
Well, I still love Doug where ever he go but Kings, I am worry now.
 
I have been a fan of this team for 20 years. I don't think ANYTHING, including the J-Will for Bibby trade, has shocked me more. (In that case, I was stunned because I didn't believe Petrie could pull it off.)

So we now officially have NO defense. That's just wonderful.

Well, all I can say is........................wow. Why would Petrie do this? Didnt he see the Kings were struggling in defense?

Doesnt he know Christie is our defensive specialist? Maybe he thought we now have good SG's like Martin, Evans, barnes and now.................Mobely.

What? Mobley plays good defense... And to be honest... Doug had lost a step on D... I think the defense is really a wash! Then you add Mobleys scoring ability... I think the Kings got the better end of this... But I will miss Doug...
 
I love Christie but I think he's lost a step this year. Probably a combination of age and injury. He will be missed but I don't think he has been the clamp down defender consistently this year.

Yet I still dont believe stats show how precious DC is to us.
 
Grant and Mike Lamb talking on the radio about Doug. They said they'll miss him. Thinks the Kings will be less of a defensive team... but salary is lesser now. Also a younger team now. ...Mobley only average about 2 rebounds a game (wow). Next year is an optional year for him.

A few fans calling in and upset.
