Man, I'm working at the airport now and its really coming down.

 Ahhhhhh

ive never had to experience any Tornado warnings or watches...its more about Hurricanes than anything else here

btw: i know its a little of topic...but Rocki ive heard you say that you work at the airport several times..and im just curious what do you do at the airport if you don't mind me asking...?

BOY,watching news WOODLAND looks really nasty! I'm near Placerville, getting some thunder/lightning,but not like WOODLAND,ive been through a few Tornados when i lived in Texas, but ive never seen a wall of water like the one around Woodland.

yikes!

I live in Woodland, and the storm just passed (knock on wood). That was a lot of water in a short period of time. My house is a flat-top deco-style kinda thing, which is cool, but it really cares the heck out of me when that much water comes down so fast... it just translate to 5 inch pool of water directly overhead. Now the streets are completely under water... but at least it's off the roof!!!

wow, so that's what all that was.

All these black clouds were blowing east and then they were blowing west. And about that time there was a huge lightening strike around Arco Arena with rain pouring down, with the sun shining through a tiny patch of sky among the clouds, and only at the back of the house.

weird weather!

As someone who is currently living in tornado country, I know how scary (and destructive) they can be.....especially if they touch down.

It sounds like all my friends there fared pretty well. I am very thankful for that.

Did you know something like 90% of the world's tornados happen in the U.S. (my numbers could be a little off -- but by far the vast majority)?

I always wonder what the first European settlers to see one of those things must have thought (after likely never even having heard of such a storm, let alone seen one) -- under those circumstances I wonder if it would have gone against the Puritan ethic to scream HOLY ****!!!!!:D

I had fun scaring the kids...their teens so don't feel sorry for them....it was blasting over the cable and I said "don't go near the windows" "be careful on the phone you could get electrocuted" "don't sit under that large mirror"...can't remember the last time I had so much fun!

Was watching the news...that was crazy. There are reports that a part of the gas station overhead in Natomas got torn off, part of a Raleys in Natomas was damaged and some apartments near Arco were severly damaged as well.... Yikes, sure hope everyone is ok. One of the worst "tornado warnings" I have seen in my life time for Sacramento/Northern Calif.

:( Oh, I hope everyone near ARCO is okay.

Calling, THE FREAK. Please check in here.

We had a huge cloudburst/hail/thunder/lightning in Vacaville about 4:40. I work in a 108-year old building, was was more than a bit nervous about our roof. Even as I type, it's coming down hard here in Fairfield. The one good thing about living in a mobile home - we don't flood as easily as traditional homes.

...Parts of the Raley's roof and Round Table Pizza Roof came off. I was in Raley's when I heard a big BOOM and a shake...Part of the shingles came off. Surprisingly enough, everyone ran outside to see what happened. A funnel cloud was outside! I was looking out the sliding doors when the workers told everyone to come in. Luckily no cars in the parking lot got turned over but as we went to Arena Blvd, we saw like one truck overturned. Scary, yes. But I'm here.

.....BTW a piece of roof fell on me. (like 3 pounds of rock lol) I have a bump on my head. :o

Thank you for checking in, The Freak. And, thankfully you are okay, other than the bump on the head.

Wow Freak, from the sound of things... I got away easy! We had absolutely pounding rains, but no more than a very mild wind just a few miles north of you. It weird how this kind of weather is so dramatically different from one block to the next.

Hope the noggin is well.

it took some tiles off my work place, knocked a couple semi trailers over, but noone was here, so noone got hurt. glad that all you got was a bump, freak.

so i was just watching my local news at 5 here in the CT...and they showed some pictures of some of the damage in Sacramento...yikes....Geoff Fox are weather guy said you guys aren't out of the woods yet....they also showed parts of southern cali who are going through mudslides...

Yeah, Southern Cali have been having those mudslides for a while now.

((Freak)) hope you're doing better!

Many of us are north of California.

Rock meant that many of the posters here are from Northern California (around the Sac or Bay Area). So the mudslide down in South Cali (around LA) don't really harm us. ;) Hope I explain well.

California's a pretty big state. Sometimes the weather we recieve in North Cali don't effect South Cali. Or vice versa.

oh i see...but i was just mentioning the SoCal weather just to mention it...i know a lot of you all from NorCal

its crazy to think that some of you guys live like an hour outside of Sacramento (for example) and Sac is just a huge city in Cali...you can get from one side of Connecticut to the other in an hour...maybe even 45-50 mins if there is no to not much traffic...or you do a solid 80mph the whole trip...thats just crazy

LA is twice bigger than Sac. I live about 90 miles from Sac and it's like 2 counties away. Heh.

I was in LA over the weekend and I haven't seen rain, hail and thunder like that since I watched the Ten Commandments.

Amazingly bad weather

LOL now.

But I was insane enough to be touring Disneyland during the worst of the Saturday storm. Thought I was going to float away.

My mom and I always used to go to Disneyland in the rain because there were no lines. Only the diehards would brave the weather, and there were no little kids and/or mothers nipping at your heels with those damned strollers.

We went one day when it was showering -- enough to be slightly unpleasant, but not enough to shut down any of the rides -- and we walked onto everything.

Man, I miss being close enough to Anaheim to go to Disneyland on a whim.
