While I definitely agree that D Will's late season offense is not enough for me to want to see him back in a Kings uniform, I could see making the qualifying offer (about 4 mill I think) IF there seems to be interest out there. I'd hate to see him walk with nothing in return. I could be wrong but I don't see us in the situation where the 4 mill in cap space will matter much one way or the other and a sign and trade might net back a decent bench prospect.

4 million dollars?!
4 million is flushing money down the drain for DWill.
The guy wouldn't be worth 2 mil, based on his history.
He sat on the bench and laid turds all over the court for almost a season and a half before he started to give (even half-hearted) effort - at least on the offensive side of the ball.
Then, he had half of a season of basically garbage time to rack up easy dunks and points.
He screwed over the Kings organization by playing so horribly, back when they COULD have traded him and gotten value for him. Now, that ship has sailed - the Kings can't "get anything for him in return."
He proved he only is interested in his own neck, since he waited 3 1/2 years before caring what he did on the court.
Faced with losing millions of dollars, he finally decided to put some effort in (on offense, with garbage time padding his stats). That kind of personality is well-known in NBA circles - the list of "talented" players who only play for a paycheck, and once they get it, they go back to sucking, is endless.

I don't particularly love Williams but I highly doubt we get multiple better players in FA being the Sacramento Kings and in a league full of divas. He really showed up since Karl arrived as well as Casspi. I don't see why anyone here could be picky. Both him and Omri showed a lot and unless Sac becomes the new NY, we have no right to be so picky. Get us a good draft pick and upgrades over Hollins and Evans (very easy) and we'll be fine. I highly doubt we could get someone that makes a true difference over Williams.
