8 days and counting....

Is it going to be a BANG or a WHIMPER?
from a trade perspective, I'm guessing a whimper, largely because they players on this team which may potentially be attractive to contenders are not playing very well (I exclude Kevin Martin because he's presumably not available).

I was hoping the Kings would be able to move Bibby for a big man to develop, but I'd be surprised if many teams are interested considering that he has the option on his next two contract years.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. The Kings probably would have to do a deal like Philly did with Weber -- pay him to leave. Brad has insured he won't get traded by going on "injured reserve". After the Boston game, they play 4 away games in 5 days with two back to backs. If Petrie doesn't make a deal by the 22nd, ........Oh the pain!:( If no deal occurs and the Kings don't even get a top 7 pick in the draft, I don't even....

It's cool, I know that little 5 game winning streak gave some people hope...but I, and I know I wasnt alone...still knew that we are mediocre, at best...and that a letdown would occur...this isnt a team, it's one great player(Artest), one good young player(Martin), and a bunch of square pegs, even Bibby has to be put in that category, at this point. Circa 1997...

I'm hoping for a trade that will A) make us better big time which I don't see there being a chance in you know where happening, or B) one that will make us ten times worse (if possible) in order to get a top 5 pick. The team we have now will just be good enough to just barely miss the playoffs and be lucky to get a pick in the top 15. We need to hope for the best

Don't count on a trade. Gavin was on with CD last night and basically said that they will wait and see what happens. That he knows this team can make the playoffs and thought they could possibly win the championship at the beginnig of the season.

Apparently completely and totally cracked. And willing to take their franchise down with them.

If that is truly the Maloof party line...well, then any hope would depend on just how far their hooks were sunk into the front office. Howq much freedom would Petrie have to act? And of course would he anyway is a nice separate question.

As much as I like Scot, I would only do this if he's playing like he was before his back injury. He hasn't been quite the same since.

PLUS, who would you have coach? Corliss? Ron? :p

(I am in no way arguing against getting rid of Muss)
It was a joke. It was my addition by subtraction theory. :) But Artest already coaches the team anyways.

If that's the case, then we're in deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep trouble. We have ownership that doesn't have a clue. Either that, or he thinks the fans are incredibly stupid and they'll buy into his nonsense.

And another question is what was Petrie really thinking about this team at the beginning of the season. Remember, he was the one who had the delusion that Miller, Bibby and Peja would be his championship core. Are the Maloofs just parroting what Petrie told them?
