[Game] Thunder vs. Kings - Feb 12

Well, it was open and it just missed. Got a tip off it too. A win would have felt soooo good though.

:: sighs ::

That sucks, but I can live with it. There's nobody on the team I'd rather have taking that shot in that situation, percentages be damned.

Damn. Off by a couple inches. Good game though. I hope Westy remembers the impact Donte had on defense. Doubtfull though.

With Steven Jackson hitting the shot to win the game for the Bobcats in the earlier broadcast, I really wanted to see Tyreke hit the shot for the game winner in this one.
It looked good, just....so close.

Another close, close loss, but people are so high on the Thunder, so it's great to see our team so competitive.

If Westphal had let Donte play more on Durant through-out the game, I think we win this game. Donte can't stop Durant, but at least he can really make Durant work for those points. Casspi gave up points way too easily.

On the plus side:

With some good FA signings we're gonna tear it up.

Westphal had a good line which I will (mis)quote: "To have twice as many wins, you dont have to be twice as good. You just need to be 5% better."

If we were "5%" better, we'd win a lot of these nailbiters.

I didn't mind that last shot there. I actually wanted us to go for the win, why not. So close oh so close, on to the Suns.

losses suck, but being a young team I am ok with losing by two. we are playing alot better just need to find a way to close these games.

This. That was a pretty good shot for the situation. We just didn't get the luck of the bounce this time

Yeah. Can't really ask for a better look. I do like how confident Tyreke looked taking that 3. These last sec shots, and late game situation will only help down the road.

PS; what the hell was Brooks doing taking out Westbrook with 2:12 left in the game? I was confused on that one for sure.

We went on a 12-2 run to close out the game. If Tyreke had hit the 3pt shot to win, it would have been a 15-2 run.

I'll be honest, if it went into overtime, I don't think we would have won. We were on the run, but I guess I have zero confidence in our ability to win in OT. The other factor is that we're playing on the road tomorrow night, so going for the win might make tomorrow's game a bit easier.

So I was actually fine with the 3pt shot to win the game. Tyreke had a clean look, it was on-line, just a smidge short.

I'm certain that instances of this nature will help propel Tyreke to continue to work on his jumper. So if this is additional motivation to make Tyreke the type of player we expect him to be in the coming years, then I'll live with today's loss.

Not sure but for some reason, Maynor was hurting us more than Westbrook seemed to be. Maybe he was exploiting that?

I don't see how, Westbrook kept penetrating. Maynor made a couple of nice plays but that was it really.

Neither do I, but I don't necessarily agree with Brooks's decision to keep putting Harden on Reke either yet that was what he did.

I think a Maynor trade is possible. Ive been saying that all year. And if Landry was playing like he was last year, the Thunder would be all over that deal. They need bigs, we have bigs. We need a PG, they have a PG. They are a logical trade partner.

They need GENUINE bigs, not a 6'8 midget bigs! There is a difference.

Watching the replay of the last shot - it was the only truly feasible option, and I agree with your statement. The Thunder took everything away and dared him to hit it. He almost did.
