An NBA executive said the Cavaliers, in a trade expected to be completed later today, finally have acquired a top-level point guard in executing a six-player, three-team deal. The Milwaukee Bucks traded point guard Mo Williams to the Cavs in exchange for the expiring contracts of guard Damon Jones and forward Joe Smith.
As part of the deal, the Bucks will receive Jones and Oklahoma City point guard Luke Ridnour. Oklahoma City acquires Smith and Bucks forward Desmond Mason. Oklahoma City also will send swingman Adrian Griffin to the Bucks.

Great trade for the Cavs. I always thought Mo Williams was a great player. This would seem to have made sense for the Bucks, but after they traded Yi For Jefferson, I have no idea what they seem to be doing

If the Bucks have gone and gotten Luke Ridnour as their replacement for Mo Williams, it may indicate that they're pretty serious about Ramon Sessions becoming their #1 PG later this season.

Agreed. Sessions was killing it in the last couple games of the season when Williams sat out with an injury. After watching him play at Nevada for a couple years, I think the Bucks are making a good decision.

While I agree that Sessions looks to be a steal, they would have been a better team with him AND Williams, instead of Ridnour. I know, it was a cost cutting move and I understand that. But this move doesn't make sense to me after they just traded a great prospect in Yi for Richard Jefferson, which made it seem like they were in a win now mode.

Pretty silly deal for the Bucks. Don't care whether Sessions can play or is just a flash in the pan. Mo Williams was a young player of value who just last season you dumped $50+ million on to keep him away from Miamii. Then you turn around and dump him to a division rival who needs exactly what he brings for ending contracts? Duh.

Duh. Duh. Duh.

i still dont get what the cavs are trying to do with their lineup.....

In this case obviously add another major offensive player. Been trying to get a wingman for years -- really ever since Michael Redd proved he was a loser and would rather lose as a sadass Batman wannabe than win as Robin. Another part of the problem is that Mike Brown is like the new Jeff Van Gundy -- defensive guru, but an offensive idiot that strangles anybody they bring in.

thats what i dont get about their team... im just waiting for them to trade for randolf so that they can have the most @ss backwards starting lineup in nba history.... lebron is great but the rest of that team isnt much of a team.... if people around here thought that the kings had no identity then they would lose their minds looking at the cavs roster.... what kind of team are they?

pg-williams
sg-lebron
sf-? wally or pavlovic
pf-wallace
c-big z

i can understand pairing lebron and williams, it makes sense... but the rest of their starting lineup is ugly.... wallace and ilgauskas? maybe 4 years ago but not now... and their wing players.... wally is a huge expiring contract so he's okay but pavlovic whats he gonna do? they might as well have john salmons starting next to lebron... that team is weird... its the only way to describe that teams make up... just a weird, random assortment of players...
