Old school poster, back from the dead and now living in San Diego, a city/county not brought up much in this whole arena deal.

First off, let me start by saying I feel awful for the fans from Sac. I put myself in your shoes and imagined if the Chargers were relocated to Oakland. Trust me, I get it. If that were to happen I would stop following the Chargers immediately. This post isn't meant to question you guys at all, this is more for the people that say there will be no fan base, I disagree.

Having lived in Long Beach during THE years, and ventured out into all of OC, I'm aware of the large amount of Laker fans, but I'm also aware of the substantial amount of people in OC that despise the Lakers. There will be many OC residents that will jump right on the Kings/Royals bandwagon strictly out of spite, and there will also be the fan that will be a fan just because the team is now Anaheim. But that isn't what I'm really getting at.

What you all have forgotten is San Diego and all of the counties within it. We have no NBA, the closest we have is LA. There is a large amount of NBA fans down here without a team and without a close venue to see them at. Anaheim is very accessible for San Diegans. Quick ride on the Coaster (train) will drop us off pretty much right at the Honda Center. I know I am excited about the move (again, I feel for you guys). There are a lot of people at my work that are also excited, and they aren't all Kings fans. We've got tons of transplants here that follow teams from all over, and they are now talking about having the chance to see their team play relatively close to them without having to shell out a ton of cash. (LA is a beotch to get to from down here, Anaheim is not) Many casual NBA fans have also said they'd back the Kings/Royals as it would be there now "home" team. People down here comment all the time about the young/talented team that is coming together (helps that I'm always bringing it up), and they will definitely be there to support them.

Just my two cents as I don't speak for everyone down here, but I just wanted to throw it out there that there is some excitement down here, and no one has mentioned all of the NBA fans that live in San Diego County.
