Thoughts and prayers for those in the path of the Ralston fire

With 1900 acres already burned, there are close to 300 homes being threatened tonight near Foresthill. The most frightening thing is to realize there's very little the firefighters can do at night. During the day, they can bombard the flames with airplanes AND helicopters but they cannot fly at night.

People have been evacuated and they won't know until tomorrow at the earliest if their homes are safe...or if everything they left has been reduced to smoldering ash.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of them AND with the firefighters who are going to be doing everything they can to keep this blaze from spreading into populated areas.

The best scenario would be a wind shift that might send the fire back over areas it has already burned.

Wow..I hadn't heard about this. Thoughts and prayers for the homeowners, firefighters and that the wind shifts. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, VF.

I could see the smoke hanging over the valley as I drove to Arco yesterday. I hope homes are saved, but I hope lives are saved most of all.

I especially hope our own treewoman and her family, who live in the Foresthill area, are safe.

I did not know about this until now, thanks for bringing this up VF i hope whoever lives there is safe. my prayer is with everyone who lives in the area.

My prayers are with treewoman, and everyone else who lives and works in the area. And, please keep our firefighters safe, as well.

Definitely my best wishes go out to them. I hope everyone is safe...The last report I read says they don't expect containment until the 18th.

The winds started picking up today making things even tougher.
