With 1900 acres already burned, there are close to 300 homes being threatened tonight near Foresthill. The most frightening thing is to realize there's very little the firefighters can do at night. During the day, they can bombard the flames with airplanes AND helicopters but they cannot fly at night.
People have been evacuated and they won't know until tomorrow at the earliest if their homes are safe...or if everything they left has been reduced to smoldering ash.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of them AND with the firefighters who are going to be doing everything they can to keep this blaze from spreading into populated areas.
The best scenario would be a wind shift that might send the fire back over areas it has already burned.
