Theus to be Kings' head coach

Ya no chance Brooks is back as an assitant. He is probably pissed right now, the dude has what five years of assistant experience and gets passed over by a guy with no experience.
 
I thought 40 wins was a good possibility now i can expect 20 wins. Theus haha what a horrible coach hiring first Musselman and now this.

Yeah... I mean why would you want a guy with championship rings, played for and was assistant coach to arguably one of the greatest coaches of all time, and is known as a locker room leader? I'll take the one who played under Jerry Reynolds... Bibbilicious!
 
While he was not my first pick, he was not my last either. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I'll revisit my stance around the beginning of December. Until then, "Welcome Coach Theus."

Now with that done, seriously, you hire a college coach, you damn well better rebuild, go young, and get him some guys who will actually look at him as some wise old head, as opposed to guys who have done more than he ever did as a pro.

"College coaches who coach in the NBA are bound to fail". I would give Theus a chance for us to get a high lottery pick thats what this move was all about anyways.

It appears to be a bad hire. Fans can bemoan and still be Kings fans.

I'm all for giving him a chance, as with everyone else who has stepped into a uniform or on the court to represent the Kings.

And for the record, I really liked the show Hang Time. :D:o
 
At midnight tonight I am 100% behind Reggie Theus. But for now I am going to go foward with my WTF knee jerk reaction.

I fear you're embarrassed purley because you are a Reggie fan, and that is what the Maloofs are counting on. Old Reggie fans from back in the fuzzy memory old days. If he was the exact same guy, but had never played for the Kings, but ratehr the Sonics or some such, I doubt you would be so wounded.

Reggie hasn't been a King in two decades. When he was, we were losers, and so was he. Now we are losers once more, and now he's back. Hardly portentious.

Its not a no hope hiring, but its certainly no higher percentage than Muss was last year.
 
this is a open forum right? i haven't heard anything super negative yet. ppl are expressing their feelings right now. i'm not happy with this decision as head coach. i was hoping they went and tried to reel in stan van gundy from the get go.
 
Everyone will give him a fair chance thats what the summer is all about rather you make a bad trade or a bad coach hiring you still wanna give it a chance. thats the easy path but not the reality one.

Sorry, Heuge, but the majority of Kings fans I've known over the years have ALWAYS given someone a fair chance. In fact, I think it's one of the things that has separated us from some of the other fanbases.

I, for one, welcome him and wish him well. We don't know what kind of job he will do any more than we knew what kind of job Adelman would do.

But apparently I'm in the minority so I'm going to just bow out and let people vent their spleens. It just makes me a little sad, however, because I expected a little different response.
