Re tonight's episode of The Walking Dead: (Without giving anything away) I certainly didn't see that coming. :eek:
 
Second shooting of the week to hit major news. Barbershop in East Detroit shot up, killed 2. 9 injured. Supposedly the shooting was over a gambling/debt dispute. What in the world is going on...just two days ago you have a gunman open fire at a New Jersey mall, week prior you have school shootings, same week you have a airport shooting.
 
Against my better judgment, I recorded Thursday's episode of Two and a Half Men, because they advertised Lynda Carter as being on it, apparently as herself. I am very hesitant to watch it: on the one hand, having seen a few episodes previously, I have absolutely no interest in seeing Alan Harper act like a jackass in front of Ms. Carter. On the other hand, I have a very great deal of interest in looking at Lynda Carter in HD. Talk about a woman who's still getting it done!
 
Ughh my girlfriend left an article "dramatic endings to videogames" and when I wake up the computer from sleep it instantly saw two endings I didn't want to see (The Walking Dead Game and the Last of Us). Stupid Buzzfeed and their animated GIFs. I'm bummed out. The team better win tonight.

Starcraft II and the Heart of the Swarm = happy husband. He's much easier to live with when he has a good PC game to take out his frustrations in.
 
Basketball season has started anew. What free time I had left is now gone. At least what my team lacks in skill they make up for with enthusiasm.
 
The stress of my massive move hasn't really hit me until now. I may be having an existential crisis. T-Minus 10 days!
 
What's the time difference? And are you still going to be able to actively participate on the board? Sorry, to be selfish but your game thread intros have been the high point of the night more than once... ;)

The time difference is 16 hours, give or take an hour. 6 PM in California is 10 AM tomorrow in Japan. Actually, thanks to daylight savings time, I think 5 PM is equivalent to 10 AM right now. Since my new job has funky hours (workday starts at 12 and ends at 9, nonconsecutive days off), I don't anticipate that there will be too much of a difference in my posting habits. I should still be able to write game threads, just going to have to work on my time management since I doubt I'll be able to write threads at 4 in the morning on game day like I've been doing thus far in the season. Watching games is also going to be a bit of a logistical challenge until I get a proper internet connection and NBA League Pass Broadband or its equivalent going at my new apartment though I suppose I could always just look at boxscores and make something up.

I've been working on game recap/preview Madlibs for that interim week or two where I'll still be getting situated in my new lifestyle so if all else fails there are hopefully going to be those.

I'm glad people are getting some enjoyment out of them. I figured since the team's management was no longer half-arsing it, our site's coverage of the team should do the same.
 
HOLY crap! That Walking Dead episode was crazy. I feel all shaky and amped up like the last minutes of a close Kings game, except it was for just about the entire episode.

I know! I've got a ton of questions I won't get answers to until at least February and it's gonna drive me nuts.
 
I don't know whether I'm an unbelievable cynic, or whether I just don't typically watch the networks where these trailers have been airing, but can someone convince me that it's just a coincidence that, since yesterday evening, I've seen six commercials for the Mandela movie, which I'd never even heard of before 17:00 yesterday? Maybe they've been showing the commercials since Halloween on, like, Bravo and A&E and Lifetime, and I just didn't know because I don't watch anything on those networks?

For that matter, I hadn't seen a single ad for the upcoming release of FF6 on DVD/Blu-ray, prior to Sunday, and now I see this ****ing ad twice an hour. What's up with that?
 
Mandela has been in intensive care either in the hospital or at home in his own self made intensive care for 6 months. Everybody knew he was going to die. There was plenty of time to make a cable movie to release at the time of his death.

Are you moving permanently or for a period of a few years? Is all your family back in Japan or split between there and CA? Just curious.

Both cases are textbook examples of striking while the iron is hot. But, in the case of FF6, it's typical for the studios to hawk the DVD for a couple of weeks prior to release.
 
Good news kids! I finally set up the internet in my apartment so I may actually be able to start posting here again. First up, my in-depth review of John Salmons's recent play as the- Gawddonnit.
 
Am I the only one who was hoping for a Barnaby/Clara thing to happen? Maybe I'm just a softie.
 
So, after being intrigued by the trailers for House of Lies that were being shown during the Christmas Day games, I decided to check it out; I've seen all of the first season, and most of the second season over the last couple of days. I have to say that I have mostly enjoyed it, but the last few episodes have reminded me of something that I have believed, ever since I saw The Inkwell: Larenz. Tate. Ruins. EVERYTHING!
 
Took my son to the Heat game yesterday and our family and some family friends went to the Stockton Thunder game tonight. Both overtime wins for the home teams. Great sports weekend for us!
 
yea! I can type in the box now. Not sure why my computer wouldn't let me before but it seems to be fixed now. Hope everyone has a Happy New Year.
