McCallum is here to stay guys, don't dismiss him as a scrub. He could be a player in this league. High basketball IQ, size, good athelte, well rounded pg, able to facilitate and look for his offense.

Not sure how someone pointing out that second round picks don't get guaranteed contracts equates to calling him a scrub...

I do whatever it takes. I think that as a small market team we've been lucky to draft two high ceiling talents that legitimately seem to be small market city kind of guys. Gotta hang on to them while you can.

Honestly, if we gave him max money and he never improved and just stayed at this same level of production, would that even crack the top 10 awful contracts we've handed out?

Great question. In fact, I believe I shall steal it and make it into a new thread. ;)

Not sure why people are missing this, but the Kings will be matching any contract. Reason is simple: if it turns out, at any point, that you don't want him for that price, you trade him. You trade him for any thing. Letting him walk now for nothing is simply not happening.

The Kings WILL be matching, or signing him outright. THEN you decide if you want to keep him at that price. This is not even a question.

Of course, you may go to him and say, "we can only pay you this much if you'd like us to sign Iggy as your teammate. And Iggy will only sign if you are here..."

But he will be signed.
