This is the first time I've been living in Sac for more than a month in over two years, so forgive me if this has already been posted. I was just looking up "The Towers" online and damn, they look nice.

Check out the web page if anyone is interested

I looked for threads on this topic - couldn't find any, but if there is let me know.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Agree with VF21. We slowly but surely are. Gorgeous towers. Wish I could afford to buy a condo there. Can't wait to see the final product!

I personally find them repulsive. And no I'm not just saying that to be contrarian. :)

Looks cool. And while I have no idea where I'll end up after college, it is nice to see Sacramento growing up. More development downtown is a great idea IMO, and seeing these projects, as well as the arena, take shape makes me excited for the future.

Those are really beautiful, and I drive by the lot they are going to be built in every morning. I just wonder how they are going to fit those two tall buildings in that one square block???

Do you find them repulsive because of the design, or do you find them repulsive because you are afraid of growth and change as many are??

I dno't see how you could have a problem with the design itself but that's just me, and majority of the people in this thread I guess.

Its not so much the design and the general way it fits into the skyline. Aesthetically I don't like the idea of plopping up two big towers nearly 200 feet taller than anything else in the vicinity. It's screaming "look at me" which is something I don't like in architecture.

I have no problem with growth itself, and in principle I believe in building up rather than out to reduce sprawl although I think this strategy is arriving too late for Sacramento.
