The Positive Kings Thread

I realized another positive today, even though the Kings came up a bit short at the end. When they were down 24, I didn't change the channel. I didn't lose hope and I didn't find something else to do. I watched the entire game. Why? Because with this group of young men there's always a chance...and that's a very positive step up from last year.

People can be joking or cynical all they like. I'm glad this thread was started and I'm enjoying reading some of the other comments that aren't always critical or negative. And if that makes me a hopeless homer, so be it.

There is one, major positive that you can take away from this years Kings: We have a superstar. Nothing else matters, really. We're a young team that wasn't expected to do very well, so every win for us is gravy. Tyreke Evans is one of the very best players in the league, right now, as a rookie, without a jump shot. He's only going to get better.

Previously, my biggest concern for this team is that we didn't have a true #1 option. We didn't have the guy that, when the offense breaks down or the opposing defense shut us down, our team could just throw the ball to and expect a positive result. We do now. Don't get me wrong, we have a long road ahead, but we have 'the' piece that every team needs. We have our franchise player. We have our new Chris Webber. We have that guy that other teams know they can't stop. We've already seen it. It only gets easier from here on out. Mark my words, in a couple of years, "Tyreke" will be a household name in the NBA.

I am still excited about this team. I can't wait until Kevin Martin is 100%. We're losing games by 10 pts or less most of the time and K-Mart isn't going to shoot 8/18 forever...

I know, I can't wait to see Ime Udoka develop
:D

After loosing to the Sixers, I predicted that this place will go into chaos. That's why I haven't post much or even want to come here. I'm glad to see this thread.

While it's frustrating to watch some of the game and disappointment, after cooling down, I still believe this team is still heading in the right direction.

Exactly. I, for one, am willing to watch the development without expectations of a lot of wins now. It takes time to develop a young team (usually 2-3 years). But, we are going in the right direction for the 1st time in a few years.

Remember, we are just at the beginning.

A message from a 21 year old from the Philippines who's been a Kings fan since 2002. Go Kings!

Well put, there's plenty to be positive about. The teams turned the corner and is in great position talent-wise. Our window for winning it all is +10yrs w/ Tyreke. We don't need to make changes overnight.

Also a downtown arena is finally in the works that won't involve tax payer dollars.

In addition, we're in a great cap situation as well. Other than Nocioni, all our players are producing at or above their salary level.

And finally, we probably have the best talent evaluator in the league. Some of this trades are questionable, but he's under financial constraints that we're not privy too and I can live with.

And like others have said, we're not Detroit or Sixers who are buried in contracts w/ little chance of improving the next 2-3 years.

another postive, if we keep playing this badly for the rest of the year, we could possibly have TWO superstars come this years draft time.
so really any direction we take frpm here on out whether its winning or losing will ultimately benefit us in the end.

1 positive is the whole team will get the allstar weekend off. another positive is GArcia coming back soon. Another positive is the teams overall performance this season(considered season 1 of the rebuild). Techinically if the season ends with this many wins, we would have a moderately successful team with the amount of close games we have had. Another positive is the stock of all our players is either steady or increasing.
