High Line Observation Deck and New York City, New York City (November 8, 2025)

Edit - in this photo I was actually drawn to the gal in the lower left corner writing in her notebook. Seemed like a very "New York" thing to do, for some reason. I don't know if she was working on poetry, or a class assignment, or whatever, but it didn't seem like personal journal entries (I zoomed in just enough to see "layout" of what she was writing [below] but not the actual writing itself - didn't want to be a snoop) - it was organized in paragraphs and some sections were indented or set apart. It just pulled my attention and I wanted to include her in the corner of my photo.

@Warhawk, are you taking all (most) of your pictures with an actual camera, or with your phone?

All the recent ones I posted were just from my iPhone 13 Pro. I do have a Panasonic Lumix DC-ZS70 (pocket camera with a 30x optical zoom) I sometimes use, but usually only on bigger trips/adventures where I know I want to have the additional zoom capability.

But for most stuff I just use my iPhone with optical zoom only then crop the photo as I like it. Nice and easy and most photos turn out fine for my use. I never use the digital zoom.

For having been taken from an iPhone 13 Pro, the quality of the photos that you have just posted are incredible!!!

Actually, I have to shrink the photo pixel count/quality a bit to get them under the 1 MB limit for photo posting here. Still not bad! I don't really like how well it performs for most concerts, though (zooming and cropping in low light situations with movement). I have a friend who used to use a Pixel phone and his concert photos were amazing, with an incredible zoom capability on the phone camera (likely digital interpolation, but his photos were great, especially in that environment).
