The PERFECT deal: Wiz/Kings

1.walker is a scorer. thats all he is. no defense, no hustle, and at the sf spot.
we dont need people at the sf

2. walker played 23 minutes last season, and almost half of his shots (300) were 3s. he made 27.5 percent of those. conversely, artest shot 40 less 3s than walker, and played 15 more minutes a game. he also made 36%.

3. what are you going to do with artest, walker, salmons, martin, garcia, AND douby? and nobody better suggest to give him time at the 4. he averaged 4 rebounds.

4. you want an over his prime tweener who gives you 9, 4, and 2 in 25 minutes? those are almost exactly sars numbers, only with less 3s (missed).

never thought id say this, but id rather have kenny thomas

Both Walker and KT are redundant. Neither one of them are any good. Talent-wise they are equal. In a situation like that, one must look at the contracts and low and behold Walker has a better one. Quite frankly nothing else really matters.

redundant? did you not see the stats? kenny thomas hasnt shot 300 3's in his entire CAREER. walker is a 6'8 small forward, kenny thomas is a 6'7 power forward. waht are you even talking about? they dont play the same position, they dont have the same game, they dont have the same moves (but thats cuz kenny doesnt really have any). what is it exactly that you see as redundant? i dont wanna be rude, but i see nothing at all that shows redundancy unless youre gonna say that they both play in the nba and they both kinda stink right now.

as far as talent, walker has 3 all star appearances, and a ring. kenny thomas has a pouty mouth

neither are answers, theyre just here till they would go away. with that said, do you want a small forward coming in instead of garcia, or a pf coming to give our new rookie big (wishful thinking) a rest?

I'm not sure you know the context in which I was using the word redundant. Useless is a synonym of redundant so go ahead and use that word instead. Both of them are pretty useless, or as you put it: "neither are answers."

Your post basically proves my point. Neither of them are answers and "theyre just here till they would go away." Walker goes away faster, that's why I would pick him.

i dont think redundancy by itself has a connotation of uselessness one way or another. if you had 3 steve nash's, it would still be redundant...

4.characterized by superabundance or superfluity: lush, redundant vegetation.
here redundant is used in a positive connotation through "lush."

anyways, yes they are both kinda useless. however, kenny thomas is less useless. he wont take shots away from others. both would play minutes if they were here. the difference is that kenny thomas does not play a position that we have a logjam at; the swing.

also, the heat already have a better almost exact version of kenny thomas in udonis haslem. hes cheaper, hes taller, he rebounds better, hes hustles more, he scores better.

no way the heat take k9 when they have the rich mans version of k9

I looked up dictionary.com and useless is indeed a synonym of redundant.

I am assuming that Artest is moving on this summer. That would leave Garcia and Salmons at SF. We already have Williams and SAR at PF. Either way we have players at both positions not to mention the fact that we could be adding another big as well.

If you really want Kenny Thomas for that extra year at 9 million because he is "less usless" then so be it...

You are probably right but if Bibby is thrown into the mix then they might. That trade above was pretty reasonable.

Oh joy of joys. That sure fills my heart with hope for the future...

/end sarcasm

I wouldn't be quite so quick to assume Artest will be gone this summer. And if our PF rotation is Justin Williams (who isn't even signed to a contract as of June 30) and SAR, then next year is going to be just as miserable as this one, IMHO.

As far as Kenny Thomas goes, you can't count on any other team grabbing him with the albatross contract he has. In fact, he might well end up being on the receiving end of some kind of buyout.

1. I appreciate the sarcasm but you do realize that the goal for the next couple years is to rebuild right? A couple of seasons with a bad, albeit young team while garnering some top draft will help us out and give you some actual hope. My suggestions are not for bettering the team next season, they are meant to better the team long-term.

2. Rebuilding usually means no playoffs so yes, next year we will probably be worse then we are this year. There is talk of getting rid of Artest and Bibby for expirings and young guys so of course we will be worse for the immediate future. Maybe you want to give it a go and try to reload but I really think the way to go is to start over...

3. You are preaching to the choir on this one. I'm the one saying KT needs to go for anybody with a better contract, even if it's in a package that will bring Antoine "The Chucker" Walker.

That makes no sense to me because if you are going to just not play KT, then why not trade him in a package for Antoine Walker (who has a shorter deal) and do the same thing?? That's one less year of a bad contract...
Because by not playing him, KT will get restless and ask for an out. If there are no takers he will want a buy out and will most likely settle for less than his contract. Maloofs buy him out for less $$$ than his contract demands and we have a malcontent off our roster and we are paying him less than we would have had he stuck around.

Not interested in Haywood. If we're going to get someone who punches his teammates all the time I'd rather make one those preposterous Garnett trades.

sorry to the op for all the threadjacking...

regarding next season, i agree with walker, im fine with sucking for a while. we need these pieces moved. theyre not bad players, and disregarding the last season, our "core" are very good complementary players. also, theyre not young, and i would like for them to see success somewhere else. im sure everyone is rooting for webbs championship, and id like to still root for bibby/miller on a championship run. its kinda like kgs situation, though less attention.
