I sure am. This guy gives us more effort/consistency in limited minutes than BOTH Hawes and JT.

He may be undersized but sorry, 14 rebounds is more than our starting frontcourt combined.

And it's not just today either. He does this every game and he gives this team a BETTER chance to win than the other two.

He's also a much better post defender even at 6'7
His strength makes it so other guys can't get him deep and an easy shot...JT and Hawes are bench players starting.

I definitely think he should be getting starters minutes, but I think him coming off the bench is an important energy boost which would be lost if he was an actual starter.

I've been saying this.
Who cares if he gets into foul trouble early on. At least he makes his fouls count. Have him wear down the opposition, then bring in JT for his offense to close out the game.

I couln't care less about Brockman's height. People and common sense may say that people his height not going further in this league, but then you see him on the court you realize it's a fusion between Denis Rodman and a Wrestler, and it's for real.

Jt is not an offensive threat at all, and is turnover prone unfortunately he has regressed.. all he has is a unreliable jumpshot

I say put Brockman in over JT and make JT earn his spot back in the starting lineup. If Westphaul can take Hawes' starting spot from him to make him earn it, then he can do the same to JT.

What I meant was JT could come in against a defense that has been bruised and battered by Brockman and maybe he could have a chance.

Kind of like Thunder/Lightning pairing of RBs in the NFL. Soften them up for three quarters, then unleash the hounds when they're all battered and bruised in the 4th.

There's not doubt that Jason is going through a bad spell right now. Thats life in the NBA. Its always about, what have you done for me lately. Hero one moment. Bum the next. He has to take his share of the blame for his lack of contributions to helping the team win. But I'm sure he knows that. I've been around sports all my life. Either watching or playing. One thing I've learned is that you can't treat every player the same way.

Some need a big kick in the butt. I would have put Donte into that catagory last year. Others need a supporting arm put around them. A pat on the back. Jason falls into that catagory. Kicking him when he's down isn't going to help him. It might make you feel better, but its counter productive to helping the player. He's one of those guys that extremely hard on himself. He already knows he screwed up. Having more people pile on isn't going to make it any clearer.

I understand him because I was just like him. I beat myself up endlessly when I screwed up. I took it to bed with me. Fortunately, I never took it to the next game with me. The next game was redemption time. Don't misunderstand me. I'm not defending his play. I'm not saying, don't be critical of any player thats playing bad. But I think you can do that and still be supportive of the player. But hey, to each his own. :)

I'm all for putting an arm around JT and encouraging him. I suggest a nice chair next to one of the assistant coaches on the bench to give him some support. Sorry but if we ever hope to have JT turn into what is needed from him, he will have to watch Brockman and learn what his team needs. He could really benefit from simplifying his game and getting back to basics. You can't do that when you have PT handed to you on a plate.

Not sure if he should start or not, but he should be getting major minutes. He has never let down in the rebounding category no matter how many minutes he plays. His post defense is getting better and is pretty good. He also finds other ways to gain possessions for us. In the postgame interview, Tyreke said he loves having Brockman on the floor. I said it before, but I honestly think this guy could become a borderline star in the league, if he plays well enough to earn major/starter minutes on a nightly basis. He could seriously be a top rebounder in the league at 6 foot 7. I think at this point it's a matter of if he's not too much of a liability in any one area, and I don't think he is, other than being a non-shooter, and not much of a passer. He's starting to hit his free throws. His defense is starting to look pretty good. The great thing about him though is you have absolutely no worries about his professionalism and thinking you might hurt his feelings by bringing off the bench indefinitely if that is the best role for him. I hope all that rubs off on the rest of the team.

I refuse to give him a pat on the back! at some point he has to man up on his own and stop crying like a little girl after every call. When he complains he brings negative karma to the team and makes the officials hate us a little more. It would be different if improvement was being shown but its not.Its the same problem everygame for JT. He crys.. and crys ..and pouts when he comes out, then crys on the bench. He makes me depressed just watching him. So I can only imagine the effect he has on his teammates.

Watching Hawes get 4 rebounds while Martin got 6 makes me SICK. I'd sign the petition to have Hawes run out of town on a rail right now

I'll sign the petition...even if he doesn't start he deserves more minutes like in the Charlotte game today...just for effort (and rebounds) alone.

I agree. JT is starting to get annoying and I'm starting to dislike his attitude. I see him when he comes out of the game, he just ttttaaaaakkkkkkeeeeesssssss his time getting off the court and going to the bench. When Brockman comes out the game, he hustles off the court and to the bench. JT should take notes.

It would be nice to have Brockman start, however, the Kings need his energy to come off the bench. Brockman really needs major minutes regardless if he starts or comes off the bench.

I guess my sarcasm didn't shine bright enough. ;)

Brockman is a good bench player - nothing more. He doesn't have the skills of JT. I love Brockman's heart and effort every night but he's not a starter. JT, on the other hand, better get his head on straight or start talking to Dr. Phil.

I wouldn't be upset if we started Brockman on occasion depending on the match-up.
BUT, if Brockman is still getting consideration by the fans as a potential starter after the trade deadline then I'm going to be upset. He's been playing great, but there is no way this team is going to play-off competitive if Brockman is your starting Center.

I really like what Brockman brings, and I think he should get more consistent minutes. But I do prefer him coming off the bench.

Everyone knows we need a solid big-man to control the paint. Hopefully Geoff can get something done.

Signed.

Every good game, every good possession has Brockman's signature on it.

Yes, he's short. So what. He's better than advertised. Let him fail.

God knows Hawes has had his shot to help this team win.

Brockman is a GREAT bench player.

But considering JT and Hawes are stinking it up right now, I wouldnt mind giving him the starting job for awhile.

Play him at either the 4 or the 5

Under Westphal's current setup, we don't have starting jobs or bench jobs, except for Reke. The roster is in constant movement around Reke depending on matchups and who made the Coach happy in practice earlier that week.
