The Official Petition for Jon Brockman to Start

uhh.... i like brockman and what he brings to the table but he would be an even worse option to start than thompson or hawes... we'd be playing 4 on 5 on offense... though i wouldnt mind trying it out for a few games. what do we have to lose, besides a few games?

Brockman is a good bench player - nothing more. He doesn't have the skills of JT. I love Brockman's heart and effort every night but he's not a starter. JT, on the other hand, better get his head on straight or start talking to Dr. Phil.

I guess Brockman has to average 25 rebounds per game to be considered something more than a uh-oh-yes-he's-hearted-but-he'll-never-be-starter-because-he's-short. Probably it's common sense, and maybe I don't have it.

I agree it's not the starter center we need if we want to be play-off competitive. I agree he's not very efficent in attack, but he has shown sometimes enough agility for a 22 year old rookie. At least until a trade is done, if we consider how is playing, he deserves starter minutes.

Lets not get over excited here... i know he brings energy and hustle. but think about it when do WE need his energy and hustle? its when the team feels its losing steam. Brock is great for rebounds, and energy plays but he isnt a starter till he proves he has a solid offense. right now he is scoring on put backs and open unguarded layups. no one takes him as a threat offensively so on the offense it would be 4 on 5 in favor of the opposing defense.

rebounding though it will be 6 on 5 in our favor since brock always rebounds for two.

i say no. not till he gets an offensive repertoire. brock is good for 20 mins a game banging and delivering the hurt on the other team. he'd give you 10 to 15 rebounds on that time but less than 10 points.

he's good but he is better suited in plugging that 2nd wind to our line up mid 2nd quarter to late 3rd quarter.

You can measure Brockmans height.... but you cannot measure the heart and hustle of this man.

Not every good player needs to start. We have just as much need for effective rebounders off the bench as we do in the game at opening tipoff... All too often, some fans seem to misunderstand this concept.

I like seeing his energy, hustle and determination come in when it's needed. I trust in Westphal to make the right decisions.
