The Official Draft Day thread

Tatum to Boston at #3? Smoke screen! If his name is called at #3 we are getting Fox. I want to be wrong. I don't see how you take Tatum over Jackson or Isaac? I will be happy to be wrong but I also like to be right....hey I can't lose! ;)

Top 10:
(1) 76ers - Fultz
(2) Lakers - Ball
(3) Celtics - Jackson
(4) Suns - Isaac
(5) Kings - Fox
(6) Magic - Smith Jr
(7) Wolves - Tatum
(8) Knicks - Monk
(9) Mavs - Lauri M / Frank N
(10) Kings - Collins

This my final draft board barring trades. Who the Mavs take at #9 doesn't matter to me because I think we take Collins at #10 no matter who they take. I have a hard time believing the Mavs would telegraph their pick by hiring the Frank N coach for their summer league. Maybe he's just a good coach?! I don't have a good feel either way. I think Lauri M is the pick with a lot of PGs available in free agency.

I haven't been this nervous since THE City Council vote. It's still a little hard to believe we've come so far over the past few years. I want Fox primarily because he really wants to be here and I love that. I'll be happy with whomever Vlade picks, however, because #InVladeITrust (yes, I'm fully back on the Vlade bandwagon but - for superstitious reasons - cannot restore my avatar quite yet). It's a good day to be a Kings fan!

Every year we hear a lot of rumors on draft night, 95% of them remain rumors. I'm not worried about them, it's part of the fun. And, in any case, we are in a position where we can get a very good player, regardless of what other teams do. Let's enjoy the night!

Not sure where the Kings would put 4 (5 if you count Bogdanvich) more first year players on an already young roster.

If we can turn the #10 into #15- OG Anunoby (or Justin Jackson) #20- Semi Olejeye #25- Juwan Evans, then I think you make room for the young fellas. ;)

Let's put 15 kids on the roster. What do we have to lose? Surely even this franchise is smart enough to tank the season after they trade their franchise player especially when it's also the season before they owe an unprotected first round pick to Boston or Philadelphia (two teams which are already completely loaded...).

I didn't say I'm not enjoying it. It's just been a very long time to be focusing on this and not the fate of the team, etc. It is - as I said - a good day to be a Kings fan. :)

Ahhh! Pins and needles. Can we just tie up Phil Jackson in a closet somewhere until the draft is over? Things were looking great until he started trying to trade with everybody.

I am popping the cork on the champagne a little early but it will be impossible for me to be disappointed! This draft could not come soon enough!
GO KINGS!!!!

It's all so exciting. But I know we will have the opportunity to nab a good player at #5. The benefits of a deep draft!!

I think the Lakers are genuinely impressed with Fox, but I bet Phoenix is going to end up with him. They are getting rid of Bledsoe as we speak. Ainge is playing around IMO and Jackson is his man. We are headed for Tatum which is fine for me.

Dude, seriously? According to Woj, Bledsoe isn't going anywhere. So there. :p

draft express guy on the vertical said that order of top 7 is pretty much set up.
Fox at 5, Isaac 6 and Markkanen at 7

I'm on your side. I want Fox to be honest - but think he's too good to last.

I would have agreed with you until very recently. But I truly believe our luck has changed; karma is smiling on us. D'Fox will be ours. And all will be good in the Kingdom. :)

Going to predict my top ten:

1 - 76ers, Fultz
2 - Lakers, Ball
3 - Celtics, Tatum
4 - Suns, Jackson
5 - Kings, Fox
6 - Magic, Isaac
7 - TWolves, Markkanen
8 - Knicks, Smith Jr
9 - Mavs, Ntilikina
10 - Kings, Monk

I might prefer someone other than another SG, but I have a feeling Monk could be there at ten and it's hard to pass up that talent.

Anyway, nearly time to see what happens!

Am I the only one who thinks Lonzo Ball looks like a cross between Bill Walton and Blake Griffin?
