The Maloofs hate to loss

Which is why i doubt we will go through a rebuilding stage, they don't want things go down in a hell-hole with there pursuit for a new arena.

IMO, Petrie does want to go to a different direction but at the end its the Maloofs call and i don't think they want to go to that direction until atleast they get a new arena.

one of the reasons they want a new arena is..

Adding new fans or making the fans appreciate the arena while the team is winning.

adding luxury suites is part of getting celebrites to come and watch the team play to win and not to loss.

by getting good FA players to Sacramento if they tend to build a new arena there.

so for those who think the Maloofs are okay with rebuilding THINK AGAIN. its not gonna happen aslong as there finding a new arena to build.

The Maloofs may not be OK with rebuilding...but what's the alternative?
It's something that all teams go through at some point whether you want to or not.

Once we have enough losses in this season there will be no other choice for them to make. Hopefully we get enough losses.

Until the new arena is solved, i'm not sure we can speculate on rebuilding. the Maloofs have hinted nothing about rebuilding and have said many times that they hope things change. and that fans don't give up on them which tells me they will make sure the fans don't give up on the Kings.

there is no way there gonna let this franchise rebuild if they want a new arena its not gonna work both ways.

Once its inevitable, they will elt Geoff do his job, or Geoff will quit. That simple. They are fools, but even fools see the light when it comes up and punches them in the face.

i agree with the joker. what i have always wondered is...if mark cuban is rich enough to buy the mavs a trip to the NBA finals, why cant the Maloofs?

The mavs drafted Dirk, we can't just pick a superstar up we have to draft one ourselves.

we're already losing, nothing they can do but rebuild now.

The Owner has more power then the General Manager. its that simple. its the Maloofs call rather or not there gonna go through a rebuilding stage ... "remember" .. rebuilding stage takes a while until your ready to win a title again do you really think the Maloofs would actually wait for a while until there team even starts to get some swagger back?

i do want the Kings to rebuild; but i don't see the Maloofs following the same rail-road.

Well I hope the Maloofs realize we need to rebuild. Why the heck would they want to stay mediocre with no end to the mediocrity in sight? In my opinion is a middle of the pack team with no real hope of contending will lose them far more fans than rebuilding and having some hope to be a contender again.

How are the Maloofs going to do that??

there is no way there gonna let this franchise rebuild if they want a new arena its not gonna work both ways.

Then they're going to end up with no arena and/or no team.

Does this make sense to anyone?? It doesn't to me...

The Maloofs realize what i just posted in my previous post about the serveral reasons why they won't rebuilding involving the arena issue.

this team is simpley underachieving because of the personel moves they made in the off-season.

it has nothing to do with anything else.

some people forget that we're actually 1 good front-court player away from contending in the West. or for arguement sake 2 players away from contending in the West.

simpley by drafting young players is not gonna make the Kings contenders right away and its to risky to think they will with reasons that the player might underachieve and look like a bust.

get a veteran front-court player who could defend and your almost there thats the Maloofs thinking.

rebuilding? probably a long wait of 3-5 years.

Cuban was also willing to spend more $$$, the Maloofs seem to be more worried about the salary cap

I realized a while ago we are most definitely NOT one player away from being contenders, unless maybe its LeBron; Howard or ??. And that ain't happenin'.

If we were 1 player away from being contenders, how would we get such a player?

Basically, we're still needing a replacement for a young & healthy Webber, and the rest of our roster has done little but age and/or get replaced. Could we get another young Webber for Brad? No, and if we did we'd have no center with over 15 minutes playing experience. For Bibby? No, and if we did we'd have no PG.

Without totally gutting the team and leaving us with all the bad contracts (say, unloading SAR + Artest + Kevin, with a LOT of luck), no trade like that is possible. No FA deal like that is possible. The only way to get (or afford) a guy like that is on a rookie contract.

Whether the Maloofs like it or not, that is the direction we're headed, because our play this year is craptastic.

the Maloofs have hinted nothing about rebuilding and have said many times that they hope things change.

What do you expect them to do? Make a public announcement that they are going to rebuild so that (a) the players quit, and (b) other teams refuse to give them anything more than 50 cents on the dollar? Get real. They are not going to make a public announcement until AFTER they make a major move or two.

+ 1...

I just think it is silly when people compare the Maloofs to Cuban. Cuban is a billionaire. I'm pretty sure the Maloofs aren't. We would just be spoiled brats if we expected them to buy us a championship. And even when they tried it wasn't enough. Now they need to regroup and go at it again, the right way.

If Kings were a girl.... These Rolling Stones lyrics would fit them well....

You don't know what's going on
You've been away for far too long
You can't come back and think you are still mine

You're out of touch, my baby
My poor discarded baby
I said, baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
Well, baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby, you're out of time

You are all left out
Out of there without a doubt
'Cause baby, baby, baby, you're out of time

You thought you were a clever girl
Giving up your social whirl
But you can't come back and be the first in line, oh no

You're obsolete my baby
My poor old-fashioned baby
I said baby, baby, baby you're out of time
Well, baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
Yes, you are left out
Out of there without a doubt
'Cause baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
I said, baby, baby, you're out of time

It took me a little of four minutes to read this thread, mostly because - once again - there was no rhyme or reason to having it in the first place.

All I can say is I want my four minutes back...

If you are refering to my lyrics, Out of time is 3:22 long ;)

just kidding

I am not sure about that, I am guessing both have the same kinda money. Maloofs apart from palms also are the largest stock holders in wells fargo which has more than 200 billion in assets.

That aside, mavs dont seem to care about the luxury tax at all (at this point anyways ) and they did sign lots of those players and traded for them which got them star power. But that star (supposedly) collection did not take them anywhere, they were called Allas at that point of time.

It was a combination of Avery and players they selected in the draft that forms the core now

Dirk, Josh Howard, Diop, Devin Harris and Marquis Daniels (who was traded ) were drafted by the mavs. There were some good free agent signings as well, they got lucky to some extent as well or maybe Avery is able to get them to play well. Who would have thought that Damp would be this good for them, I have watched Damp play in GS and he was just a waste, who couldnt score or defend, Shaq was using Damp as a punching bag.

OK, I am about the last person to pick on grammar, but that fist sentence needs serious help. I have no idea what you are talking about. And did you talk to them personally to share your opinion? Or did this come to you in a dream of some sort?

Underperforming because of personnel? You think? You come up with that one all by yourself after all the weeks we've been discussing it?

Why do you not seem to realize that people get excited when a team is rebuilding? Remember the feeling around here when JWill, Webber, and Vlade arrived? The sense of promise and building for the future which arrived a couple years later?

That will be enough for the fans to come back and help support the arena issue. Right now the Kings are flailing without a sense of direction for the future....

PTI -- Dirk was drafted by the Bucks. No big loss, they didn't need him anyway. Diop was drafted by Cleveland.
