The DeMarcus Cousins drama continues.... not really though

HereWeBoogie

Hall of Famer
so earlier today, this tweet was tossed out into the twitter world.

@GSWFastBreak

One more Kings bit: new ownership group wanted to build around Cousins, but he wants out following failed SEA move. Drama ahead.

but then a couple hours after, good ole DeMarcus gives us this gem. way to go Big Cuz.......

So what happend? Does DMC want out of the Kings you have confused me.

Let's see. Boogie's haters pop up to try to use it as evidence of whatever. It will probably be picked up by various worthless media outlets, with the responding tweet being too vague of a response, so by tomorrow it will hit realgm etc. Seattle peeps will split between those doing sour grapes and saying "see? I'm so glad we didn't get that cancer" and those saying "haha! Sacramento sucks! Serves the NBA right for keeping that market!"

Then Grant will do his show and blast Cousins for being disloyal.

No, that guy was a nobody and was tweeting that with NO sources.

and then Cousins tweet, the crown and the basketball hoop, obviously means "Kings Basketball"

basically Cousins heard the rumor, then sent out the Kings Basketball tweet to say the rumor is bogus.

Sounds about right, business as usual I see.

No reason for me to read Twitter tomorrow now. Thanks for freeing up about an hour of my day and increasing my productivity at work.

i know, i just think the tweet from Cuz is cool. he didn't have to do that

Not the tweet with the crown and basketball just this "story" in general. I believe he wants to be here and whoever came out with that story is just flat out making up stuff to stir up ish.

please. Cleveland had 7 years to put anything close to a supporting cast around LeBron and they failed miserably. A washed up Antwan Jamison and Mo Williams as your two best running mates is extremely pathetic.

Double this.

If Cleveland offered the #1 pick and a player would you guys take it ?
As mentioned in the other threads on this, absolutely not.

Here's a fairly simple exercise: If DeMarcus Cousins had stayed all 4 years and was just entering the draft this year, where do you think he would be drafted? That's right: #1. By a friggin' mile given the rest of this draft class. So we've already got the #1 pick in this draft. And the #7. There is not a single player on Cleveland or in this draft even remotely on Boogie's level except Kyrie Irving. And he's a scoring PG who doesn't defend and gets hurt all the time. Since they aren't going to offer him for Boogie, there is nothing they can put on the table that even gets me to lift an eyelid.

What player? Also, trading a 275 lb athletic center for whatever the #1 pick turned into who has unproven NBA skills makes no sense at all. We know one is a 206 pounder. Great centers are hard to find. I am sure it has been said many times and will be said many times more that we will never get value back in a trade involving Cuz. If he turns out to be an awful troublemaker the reat of his career, maybe we shouldn't keep him. Let us remember his major complaint is that he can't get questioons answered from the coaches he has had and reading between the lines and all of us have opinions of Smart, he and the rest of the team were probably not overly pleased with their coach. I am sure the morale was low and doubt very much if all the low morale can be blamed on Cuz.

Also, he seems to want to stay on this team which is a unique quality in itself.

I would rather keep him and have him coached by a good coach and see what the results are. It is possible, and all I said was possible, that he could become the best center in the NBA. You don't toss a player like that away especially when a good coach and a few years of maturity may be the answer. Wouldn't it be a shame if we traded him for a draft pick that turned out to be a bust and under the tutelage of a good coach and a few years of maturity, his attitude turned around and he directed all his energy to playing basketball rather than complaining at the refs.

I'll say it again, we will never get full value back in a trade and I am sure a lot of teams are going to test this new ownership to see how desperate and naive they are.

When did Cleveland get Lebron back? because if the player they plan to trade for DMC is NOT Lebron you are wasting my time.

Don't forget the "...." !!

Kings Basketball FOREVER

Exactly.

One great quality of Demarcus' that sometimes gets overlooked is loyalty. He is an extremely loyal individual, and will be loyal to us because we are the ones who enthusiastically drafted him and showed great joy in doing so and in welcoming him. I believe it's part of his make up that he will return that trust and repay it many times over, as a way to show up all the teams that passed on him. I believe that this is partly how he defines his self worth: how much he can contribute to something: a team, an organization, a city. He wants to do all of that so badly. It's surprising to me that some people miss this. I believe that is a huge part of what motivates him. Other, more "narrow-minded" people, may see the whining at refs and begin to think he's not a moral person (a "cancer"... really?). I believe he is a highly moral and principled person (look at how he treats children), but that his personal value system was violated by the previous regime (wasn't all of ours?), and it's that clash with his principles that was causing a lot of the friction. Cousins IS a high character individual. Emotional, yes, but absolutely a high character, principled person with morals. Put that kind of person in a situation with strong, principled leadership (think Malone would be good), and there's where we have our winning recipe. We are incredibly lucky to have him.

Oooooh, are you going to get a response to this. :) I agree however so let the slings and arrows start firing.

Clever post and obviously targeted at me. If you really believe that people think he's a cancer simply because he whines a lot to the referees then you are in some sort of serious denial. Go back and look at some of my posts from a couple of months ago because I don't really feel like making the list again but his problems have extended to teammates, coaches, trainers, broadcasters, referees, and others. He's had so many confrontations over the past few years that I can't even count that high. More importantly, I just don't believe that he inspires others (most importantly his teammates) and that's my main reason for believing he's not the guy who will lead us back to the glory years.

How you come to the conclusion that he's a high character, high moral guy is beyond me but you're entitled to your opinion. I just really think that everybody so badly wants the team to win that there is a lot of denial when it comes to him. This is not uncommon at all when it comes to professional athletes in general. I just happen to be able to look at it more objectively and see the truth.

Obviously he was! And he got it -- which is great. That's what a forum like this is all about even though there are so many here that act like I'm Dr. Evil because I'm not a DMC fan.

I just wish everybody would stop getting so emotional about it.....it's just basketball.

My note had nothing to do with you.

Nothing arrogant or narrow minded about this statement at all.

Coaches and refs have been addressed. Clashes with teammates highly related to bad coaching, players getting undeserved playing time, his minutes inextricably limited, inconsistent.

Other stuff is easily a product of immaturity (lack of leadership is a problem here, again).

Finally... BROADCASTERS? Like Grant? I can't even begi...

Let's trade LWP777. He DEFINITELY doesn't inspire others.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses. It's what makes our world go around these days though, right? Nobody takes responsibility for anything. We don't even hold our beloved athletes accountable anymore!

Did you forget about the Sean Elliot confrontation last year? Of course you did!

Oh you sweet little innocent persecuted martyr angel bringing us all the truth because you are the only one objective enough to see it. BARF. People act like you are Dr. Evil because your posts are inflammatory and your personality is distasteful. If you calmly and "objectively" presented your opinions, Dr. Evil perception there not would be.
