The Delay When The Score Was 106-104 Hurt The Kings Bad...

Was it just me, or did anyone else notice that after that long delay for whatever reaosn it was killed the momentum of the Kings? I hate to bring up excuses so much, but there is no excuse for such a long delay.

yes, actually several people have noticed that. refer to the last couple pages of the play by play thread

I agree. We were on the run before that and Wolves wanted to take away our momentum by calling the timeout. Technical glitch just helped the Wolves cause :(

well if it did hurt the kings, we don't have anyone to blame for it.. the game was at ARCO.. if it was at minny, i can't imagine all the conspiracy theories and stuff popping up right now hehe..

The delay affected both teams. Clearly the Kings did not respond appropriately to it. No excuses.

Ehh... it was unfortunate, but somehow the Wolves came out of it fired up. The Kings should have done the same.

We lost to a very good team. We were in it right to the end. We made some critical errors...and will most likely learn from them.

we were iced after that technical glitch. it's just unfortunate that it had to happen right in our own homecourt at such a critical point of the game. Minny responded well to it by throwing haymaker after haymaker as soon as play resumed & Kings just could not recover.

We've made many mistakes in the past and we have clearly not learned anything from them.

Oh please. We lost to an excellent team. There is no shame in that. We aren't going to win every game. The team that played better ball tonight won. I can live with that.

We have not learned anything? Whatever...

Perhaps we've learned a few things, but to be fair, how many times are we going to have to get beat on the glass this season before we get that straightened out? We've got two players averaging double-figure rebounds (or pretty close to it), and yet we're getting KILLED on a nightly basis...

S£im - It's only November. We have turned around an abysmal 1-4 start and are now at 8-5. Even getting KILLED on the boards, had the team recovered even half of the loose balls, we might well have won.

All in all, if I have one major concern/complaint, it's about Miller. He has a good game and then disappears for an extended period of time? Between his lack of production on the boards AND his lack of control in situations where he - a veteran of several years - should know better, he's a much bigger concern for me at this point in time.

I guess that works if you look at each game individually; I'm not, though. And what I see is a cumulative lack of effort on the glass that has to be corrected if we want to go far in the playoffs, or even keep pace with Phoenix.

It just felt like we lost our momentum and weren't able to recover as quickly as Minnesota. The rest of the game was pretty good, though. It's just unfortunate what happened there at the end.

We'll recover and be ready for Tuesday.

S£im - I think looking towards the playoffs is a tad premature. You have to crawl before you can walk, and walk before you can run... Ideally, you want a team that is continuing to improve as they head towards the playoffs, not one that has already peaked. :D

OH - I agree entirely. The whole rhythm of the Kings game was thrown off by the clock malfunction. If nothing else, it took the crowd out which was very unfortunate. Once Arco starts rocking, the team feds off it and the crowd feeds off the performance of the team. Very hard to overcome - unless, of course, you simply suspend play for 5 minutes.

I thought, when I saw Brad walking off the court after his second technical, this is what he was thinking: "I have $5,000 hidden under my pillow just so I can tell that F*$&%n ref exactly what I think". For me, I like that passion.

His anger may affect his game, how could it not? With some it affects it positively. I saw Brad execute a good dunk after his first T, but maybe he isn't able to shake his anger off.

I wish he'd counter his propensity to complain to refs with some kind of moves under the basket . Now THAT would be money in the bank. ;)

And that's where we disagree vehemently, albeitrue...

A successful player doesn't allow himself to lose control of himself, especially at the expense of his team. Brad has a habit of scowling, frowning, glaring, etc. at the officials and it isn't productive. He has taken cheap shots at people more than once right after a bad call, and that's just not productive either. He needs to learn to control those things or, sooner or later IMHO, it's going to bite him AND the team.

We will agree on one thing. If he could translate that anger to moves under the basket, it would be wondrous indeed to see!

:D

I'll take a postion between Albeitrue and VF21. I like the fact taht Brad palys with pasion and heart (I think most of us do) Lets face it there is NOTHING worse than palyers who don't seem to care. I wish Brad fould fire up the rest of the guys more. Now as for the tude as he left the court. It is dumb to jaw jack a ref after geting your first T and in thise case Brad blew it. It may cost him a few bucks but it COULD have cost him a suspensionand that is where being long on heart but short on brains kills. Unfortunatly this is the price that teams pay for getting the intense emotional play that Brad brings.

From what I saw Miller was not angry about fouling out. He actualy picked up the player (Cassel I think) and was toying with him. The second(third actually, but the one that got him tossed) technical had something to do with something going on over near the Kings bench. The KHTK guys said he was trying to tell the refs there were only four Kings players on the floor.

Brad was right, when he fouled out Barnes did not move onto the court until after the first free throw. I just assumed Brad was mouthing off at Joe Crawford for calling that 'hanging dunk' on him. That was a pretty terrible call, in my Opinion.

I agree with you on this. I was discussing the 2nd T that got Brad thrown out of the game, AFTER he had already fouled out.

Yeah, Brad Miller surely needs to be able to control himself. The last ejection, when he was not even in the game was terrible. And for most of the game he wasn't at the best of his behavior.
I guess the defensive and rebounding intensity will come during the playoffs. The way both the teams stepped it up in the Dallas series. One thing i really liked to see, especially yesterday is tht Webber has started getting to the paint and seems to have quiet a bit of lift.
Also he had some really nice moves in the paint. He also gave some trouble to Garnett on the defensive end in the paint.
I would say that we lost yesterday's game because they wanted it more than us and because of some bad misses on layups, not grabbing rebounds and steals and generally a little lack of focus and energy at crutial times.
