This is AWESOME!

I thought the NBA banned them? Was it the NBA?
Well, I think people may remember them with some nostalgia, but there were a lot of complaints about them from Kings fans themselves. My brother once got hit in the head by one at a game, almost a brawl right in the stands. And all that noise they make for the cameras is something else entirely when its the person behind you banging one right in your ear all night. Its a cool vibe thing, but there were reasons they banned them.

Ahh yes, I do vaguely remember that some fans/customers had complained. For some reason I thought the main reason was because they made too much noise for the players on the bench.

I am going to have a deeper look into this and make sure Cowbells will be allowed back in on Wednesday (opening night). If so, I am definitely gonna look for my cowbell (which I do believe is somewhere in my garage on one of the shelves), and take it that night to assist me in MAKING SOME NOISE!!!!!!!

I'm not going to take mine. As Brick has pointed out, they're obnoxious and unpleasant for EVERYBODY around you. I'll save mine for the next Laker game.

You know what, I am gonna save my cowbell for a future game. Maybe against the Lakers. Maybe when the Kings go to the playoffs. I am with Brick and VF21 here, and I actually now feel that opening night is not the right time to bring back those cowbells. This is a new era of Kings basketball. We have historically been known as the loudest, most loyal fans in the NBA. This was long before cowbells were even the norm inside Arco Arena/Power Balance Pavilion/Sleep Train Arena. I say we Kings fans let our voices do the talking on opening night. We don't need some bells to let the entire NBA know who we are. We don't need some bells to let the entire NBA know we're back, and we're here to stay FOREVER. Let's allow our voices to do the talking. Let's allow our passion do to the talking.

My cowbell is staying at home.

They're a nice ambience piece, just a bit inconsiderate of the fans sitting around you.

As much time/trouble as new management is spending trying to make things an experience/reestablish an atmosphere, they should have like a cowbell row, or a place up on the open balconies overlooking the court where cowbells are welcomed/encouraged or something. Something to get the sound into the arena as a signature of the Arco/whatever homecourt without banging it in some 2 years old's ear and permanently damaging his hearing.

Makes me think of all the games where I was continually hit by the thundersticks behind me. Ouch ouch ouch. I love the idea of the cowbells, but not having them echoing in my ears. I'm with Brick on this one.

As to kids hearing: I bought both my grandchildren noise-dampening headphones for kids. I highly recommend it. Even kid earplugs from a drugstore is better than nothing. (They only dampen loud noises.) Even without cowbells the arena noise is loud, especially the piped in stuff. I'll save my little cowbells for special occasions. ;)

With the ESPN Game and the goal of reaching the Arena DB record this Friday I was going to go down to skips music and get me a loud cowbell

I probably will not take it every game, but for this
Friday I think it would be cool

I am in the upper level but in row B so I am behind the upper Luxury box and if I ring the cowbell in front of me It will not be close to anyones ear since the seats in front of me are 6 feet below me

So it sounds like security will let me bring in the cowbell tomorrow?

Woohoo got two at the local AG store over near the Costco off 160 for $8 each , nice loud ones too!!

I think if I limit them to the three tries to beat the record no one should think its too obnoxious

When I called the front office they said it would ok to bring them Woot!!

All of CrownDowntown will also have them, along with lots of other folk. This one night could revolutionize the cowbell industry. ;)

Well since I will be in the CrownDowntown Section 117 Row X for this game only will be in good company!!!

Then this afternoon got a Kings Email that said they will pass out noise makers at the game
but it said some noise makers would still be prohibited said click here for list
That link sent me to the Arena Security list
It listed:
Any noise making devices (i.e. air horns, whistles, drums, plastic horns, etc.)

So I called front office back - they said since it was not on the "List" that cowbells would be allowed

I guess cowbells are not a noise making device - but is really a Bovine Locator LOL

Moooooooooo Kings!!!!
