The coaching situation

If you were calling all the shots, would Muss still be here on July 1st?

I could. And did.

And I knew that Musselman would suck as a coach.

And I knew that we'd have two people associated with the organization arrested this year.

And I knew that we'd lose to Minny last night.

In fact, everything that ever has happened or ever will happen, anywhere, ever, regarding anything, and everything... I knew it first. And I will not rest until I get proper recognition, dammit!
It is with the greatest of pride that I award the first ever (and probably only) "Kingsfans.com Proper Recognition" award to GoGoGadget, which - of course - she already knew was coming.

Giving Eric Musselman a chance for what? we all knew this guy had bad experience with his past teams, he has never taken his team to the playoffs. i warned everyone over the summer. but people still had a reason to be faithful. i understand thats the right thing to do. but this season has been bad enough are we gonna hear the same response over the summer that we should give Eric a anotherchance? this guy was arrested for DUI. that was enough for anyone to give this nutjob a chance period.
So, is this the "I told you" post???

Here's the thing: as die-hard Kings fans, we all know of the many problems facing this team. While holes in the roster and some poor decisions by upper management are at fault, coaching is still an apparent problem.

Muss came into Sac having done much research on this team, its personell, and where he wanted to take the team. He wanted to preach defense, increased effort, and an offensive scheme that would better fit our mismatched roster of players. In grading those three criteria, he has not only failed in all fronts, but the results on the court are worse than the prior season...with practically the same roster.

Now I am a believer that Bonzi would have made a difference this season, and that is an entirely different argument. But having Bonzi and not signing Salmons would have only resulted in slightly more or less wins...as Muss might not have been able to inspire Mr. Wells.

So really, looking at the facts, Musselman has failed to do what he came here to do. Yes, we have a weak frontcourt. Yes, Bibby is having a bad year. But if you can't inspire players to be better, no matter what level their maximum potential is, you have failed as a coach.

(But then again, if Petrie has another weak offseason, it's going to take one hell of a coach to right this ship).

Oh, I know the results already, of course.

Unfortunately, as is often the case with such a gift, it's part of the deal that I am not allowed to share such information until whatever it is has already happened. At which point, I'm free to loudly proclaim that I did, in fact, know it all along.

People don't often like this quality, and have even been daring enough to accuse me of fabrication, but luckily I'm so deluded by my own sense of self-satisfaction that I can easily write it off as petty jealousy. Works out quite nicely.
