Just means someone or something that can be used as an indicator of how the future is going to turn out. Usually used in fairly obscure fashion -- for instance you wouldn't say that somebody's parachute not opening is a bellwether for them going splat on the ground -- that's too obvious and immediate. But you frequently hear it used to analyze economic cycles etc. -- i.e. a rise in layoffs in the manufacturing sector might be called a bellwether of a downturn, etc.

Would be -- but calculating them would be a *****. Maybe later, unless someone wants to take up the task. Just going off feel though, would not surprise me if the results were similar. Been a lot fo low statistic games for Ron that we have won.

Thanks Brick...that's really interesting. It seems to me that its harder to assess defensive impact, because the stats just don't tell all. It seems to me to be much harder to prove something has NOT happened (a score) than to prove something did happen. And it on the defensive side that I think Ron may be a "bellwether."
