Thank you Ron and Good Luck

Good luck Ron. I hope you succeed in Houston. Thanks for the playoff run when you arrived, the heart, and the hustle.

Thank you, Ron, for some exciting games. Your defensive abilities were very welcome on the Kings. I wish you all the best in Houston, in life and with your family. I hope you find what you need to make you truly happy.

Good luck in Houston, Ron! Sincerely wishing you the best there. I hope you get a ring this year with RA.

Open Letter to Ron:

Ron, I know you have said in the past that you read blogs and websites. Well just in case you happen to read this one, here is my message to you:

Ron, you have a great gift, as you unfortunately insist on reminding everyone. Its already made you a wealthy man. But whether its made you a happy one is another question. And the problem isn't your gift, it has been you yourself. Instead of a hero, you have turned yourself into a villain. I saw you trying in Sacto, really trying, to make it a home. To mentor the kids, to cozy up with the owners. But you just kept on tripping over yourself, over your ego. And for what? Where has it gotten you? We all make mistakes Ron, but the sign of an intelligent man is that he learns from them and does not repeat them.

But now you have yet another chance. You have an amazing opportunity opening up for yourself -- a chance to play for an elite team, to be that piece that gets them over the top, to maybe even play on the biggest stage there is. You have a coach who maybe more than any coach since Chuck Daly retired really does give his guys clean slates. You've worked together before, and the results were special. You are going to be playing alongside two superstars, both of whom are desperately hungry to get over the hump and are going to greet you as the potential answer. You are going to be playing alongside another defensive stopper -- and it is up to you Ron whether you connect with him as a fellow defensive oriented spirit or alienate him with arrogance. There is even a fellow former troubled New Yorker who has found himself under Rick. Everything is in place. You have the talent, as does the team you are going to. There is hunger all around. There is a coach who has done everything but win it all. This could be special. But its up to you. If you show up in town willing to do anything and everything it takes to make the Rockets win, your career and reputation can be reborn and your team can be seriously scary. If you show up and make it about yourself, about Ron and his shots and his ego and his money, if you spout off to the media, then nothing changes. It will be the same story all over again for you. And again, for what?

Stats are irrelevant -- the magic man who elevates his team from first round exits to a deep playoff run is going to get far more respect and attention than the guy talking about himself over in the corner as his team goes home for the summer. Look at the guys in Boston -- have KG, Allen, Pierce ever put up worse stats? And yet have they ever been more respected? They sacrificed their numbers to win. And in winning, gained the only universal respect there is -- that for the champions. Let them be your models.

You've got an opportunity here, a real chance to turn the tide of your career and your reputation. It is time to take it. There is nothing in your way now except you yourself. Look in the mirror and take control of the face you see staring back at you, and you can prove all the doubters wrong. But it is all up to you.

And yes Ron, I do wish you luck.

Thanks RonRon for the 2-1/2 years of great basketball. We'll miss you but you will be welcomed by the KingsFans on every visit to Arco Arena. Best of luck under Coach Adelman and hope you reach the finals this year.

I love this thread! Never thought I would see it after what has been said about him here...I must say, nice stepping up fellow Kings fans!

Unfortunately it took some serious moderation to keep it clean. BTW, thanks mods, that was annoying.

Ron - Thank you for all of your hard work. I will be rooting for you except when you are playing the Kings. I am sorry that you ended up with TMac, maybe you can help him to get out of the first round.

Thanks for everything Ron. You are a real superstar in this league. There are not many people in the league that can do what you do at both ends of the floor. As it has been said before on this site, if you could keep the off court antics to a minimum, every team would love to have you. Rick is a geat coach and will give you a clean slate...again. Good Luck ill be rooting for you....93 till infinity....

Ron -

You are a great player when you play within a system and to your strengths. Please remember that you are the #3 option on the offensive end for the Rockets, and you WILL win a championship, barring injuries. Ron, by taking the final year of your contract, you are still making good money and now have a chance to compete for a championship. One more word of advice, brutha: If you would have kept your mouth shut about the whole "Opt out/accept final season" thing, you would still be where you are but with a lot less of a headache. Peace, and best of luck to you and your family. Stay out of trouble. Keep your nose clean. Out.

Good night, and good luck.

Thanks for always giving it your best here Ron. Too bad things didn't work out but I think you will be a great fit in Houston.

Alot of good statements regaurding Ron. Some of you were on one side some were on the other. I started this thread worried that it would turn into a bash a thon. Thanks mods for keeping it the way it was intended. I know you didn't have to but, it showed class. What also showed class were the ones with kind words that weren't always the biggest supporters of Ron. Good job Kings Fans.

Thank you Ron! I always liked Ron as a player and to the best that I can tell, he is a good guy that just doesn't make the best decisions. Always acts on impluse. Good luck playing with Yao Ming and T-Mac and I hope you guys can win a championship together.

Thank you Ron for all you've done I still think you were one of the most tenacious players to ever put on a Kings jersey. and as weird as this may sound I will miss you a little bit, when you take over the game late in the fourth, when you pound your chest. Ron YOU ARE A BEAST

Thank You

P.S. I'll still (and I hope all Kings fans do) cheer for you. (and take it easy on us please)

Ron, i want to wish you and your family all the best in houston. i want to thank you for all the effort and heart you have played with in Sac. I will miss you. Good luck with Rick and the Rockets. Maybe you can take them to the next level.

God luck! I'll miss ya!

Ron was the guy that gave us a pulse back when he first got here. He was the reason we were a feared 8th seed (which is rare). The guy brought a lot of toughness and heart to this team.

Gonna have fun watching him help the Rockets beat up on the Lakers and Spurs

Good luck Ron-Ron!

I love all (er, most) of my Kings, but only three are in my special class of all-time personal favorites.

Michael "The Animal" Smith, Doug Christie and Ron Artest.

If I ever play an organized sport again, I'm requesting #93 to push myself into matching your Infinite Intensity on the field of play.

Strength and Honor, Tru Warier

thanks for your first half season with us (after being traded for peja)

thanks for bringing us back too playoff contention in your first half season in sac. it was just nice to see us climb all the way from near the bottom of the west, to get to number 8 in the 2006 playoffs, and graciously challenge the spurs. that was a great series to watch, thanks for the defense you periodically gave us. suppose we wouldnt have seen the kevin martin buzzer beater against the spurs in game 3 for the win. your defense brought us to the playoffs after all =)

GOOD LUCK RON RON!

I hope Ron will be okay in H-Town. But yeah apparently, Yao Ming is a lil' upset about Ron's arrival!
